Great location for main sights. Lots of people in each room so very little chance of sleep. We booked for three of us in a dorm but we were split into two rooms on different floors, which was inconvenient. My sister had to sleep in a single bed in the middle of the room and was knocked a bit in the night when other people went to bed. Really friendly staff. Very hot (as in uncomfortably so) rooms. Poor quality breakfast, had much better elsewhere.
Long story...booked and received confirmation. Turned up and there was no record of us. Booked in off-the-street. Went to room and there were only two beds and three of us. Apparently ongoing computer error. No other beds so nowhere to stay. Staff then remembered our booking but there was still no space for us. Tried blaming us, even saying that they had paid the booking deposit to us to secure our booking which isn't how it works! Rude and unhelpful but hostel looked okay. Wouldn't recommend!
Limited toilet and shower facilities could be an issue if busy. Good breakfast - nice to have a choice. Comfy communal area.
Nice to have unlimited tea and coffee facilities. Really good location for Pamukkale geological site. Staff weren't very warm and helpful.
Poor quality mattress and bed frame. Unclean bedroom and bathroom. Rude and unhelpful staff. Very pushy sales attempts, particularly the father.
Good for Asian side of Istanbul but main sights are on the European side, as are some of the more useful transport links. Staff knowledge was quite limited and one seemed shocked that we were considering leaving Istanbul and didn't know where one of the main archeological sites was. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Lively location. Reasonable breakfast. No kitchen but not expected. No communal area.
Only one bathroom for lots of people. No soap in the bathroom. No sheets provided so only dirty blanket as cover - not nice. Good location. TIP: If you want to go rafting on Tara River (which was pretty rubbish at end of April), day trip from Kotor at 70 euros is cheaper than going to Zabljak and organising (50 euros in Zabljak plus transport c. 16 euros each way).
Located up very steep hill above historic centre, very long walk. Family very friendly but we stayed twice in a period of about five days and even though it was quiet they didn't remember us and went through their welcome routine again!
Very friendly and helpful manager. Great hostel. Tortoises are cool!
This hostel was a surprise given the good ratings on Hostelworld as we were a bit disappointed. The location was good but the rooms were not great, the stairs (right next to the bedroom) made lots of noise as soon as anyone stepped on them and there were inadequate toilet and shower facilities - there were not enough of them and the ones the hostel did have were not very good ie, it wasn't a proper shower just a hand-held shower over the bath.
