B&B Delfino Blue

I can't remember the name of the lady (Titiana?) but she was warm and willing to help. Though the place is airy, some might feel it is sort of 'dusty' as it is near a main road. Everything was clean though, particularly the toilets. Relatively near Genova Principe train station, and a further 10 minutes or so to the centre of the city. Breakfast provided was decent.

Vertigo Centre

Decent hostel, very near St Charles station, a 10-minute walk or so from the port. Pleasant staff, good security (no lockers in the rooms though). Common area is nicely decorated and quite homely, with a bar. Room felt a bit spartan in comparison and ventilation was quite poor, but still alright overall.

Hostel Meyerbeer Beach

Nice, France

Good location near the beach, a 5-10 minute walk to the Old Town. Decently sized room with bunk beds, very clean including the ensuite toilet. Lockers in the room. Helpful staff who speak English. Seems to be a good place to meet people, because of this it can get a little noisy at night though (especially if you're in room 3 just by the reception area). Offers one of the best breakfast selections I've seen. Overall a very enjoyable stay, fitting for a great city like Nice!

Stayed in a 3 person room. Absolutely tiny cabin - definitely not recommended for tall people or claustrophobes. Anyway, if you're in Amsterdam it's unlikely you'll spend much time in the cabin apart from sleeping in it, so it was fine for us. Nice boho-feeling common area. Clean common bathrooms and toilets, good hot showers. Friendly staff. Alright breakfast. A 10-minute walk to Centraal Station. Only thing is floors are a bit creaky and you can hear it especially if you're in room 1!

Hotel Il Papavero

Lovely place. Near enough to Termini, but nearer to Castro Pretorio metro station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean (and cleaned daily), as was shared toilet/bathroom. Very noisy at night though because it's near a main road - light sleepers beware. We were allocated to a dorm in the other section of the place, which was a little troublesome because we had to return keys whenever we went out, and there was only one set of keys per room.

PLUS Alba D'Oro Camping

Venice, Italy

This is about as far away from Venice as you can get, though they do make this clear. The campsite provides a shuttle bus into Venice (€3 one-way/€5 return) to Tronchetto, where you'll need to walk or take another shuttle (€1) to Piazzale Roma. If taking the shuttle, make sure not to miss the last one - we did and had to take a public bus to the airport then walk along the highway. 3-bed dorm clean but very stuffy. A/C great though. Campsite itself is cool, with pool, supermarket, pub etc

Was in 4-bed dorm with a friend. Located in charming, safe area, need to travel to get to Paris' central attractions but the metro makes that easy. Remember to take rue Caulaincourt to get to hostel - much less stairs that way. Those with luggage beware - hostel has many winding staircases. Service extremely slow (waited half hour for check-in) but counter staff friendly. Room and ensuite bathroom were clean, though bed was very creaky. Walls are thin. Breakfast very good - amazing croissant.

Stayed 1 night in Apr. Lovely place. Staff (thankyou Zaida!) warm and helpful. 7bed dorm in a cave-like room (in a good Cappadocian way), very clean, bed amazing, warm covers. Ensuite bathroom/WC also clean, good hot water. Security a bit lax when dorm is effectively outside - just one key in the lock. But there's an aura of trust, so ok. 1 breakfast order included (muesli/menemen etc), free çay, extra orders chargeable. A few min to otogar. Tours, bus tickets etc offered. Recommended!
