Excellent place, great location, helpful staff. Can get Vietnamese visa from the hostel for same price as if you went to the embassy yourself - saves a lot of hassle. Huge communal area with pool table, free laundry. Only recommendation is to get a bit water dispenser like they have everywhere in China in the communal area. They had a small kettle but if it's busy you'll wait a long time. Highly recommend this joint.
Lovely place is a great location. Got a room upgrade and the place had a huge window and was super comfy bed. Free laundry, food is a little bit pricey - you're paying the tourist price. I didn't try it but I'm sure it would taste good. They have good value tours and helpful staff. Easy to recommend this place
Good location for staying in park but difficult to get to as no buses go direct to the hostel. You must walk at some point either 2 - 4 hours depending on which route you walk up. Had to pay extra money for heating and it was really very cold. No heating in communal areas either. Despite paying extra for the heating one of the units didn't work anyway.Kitchen serves a variety of cheap and nice food.
This place is perfect if you want to be close to explore Seoraksan National Park. It's only 1.5 km from the park entrance and right next to the bus stop for buses coming in and out of the park. It's a big hotel which is quite old and its furnishing and vintage looking crimson bathrooms are amusing. But ok for location & money.
The place is an apartment with a couple of rooms converted into a dorm but has that cool house share feel about it and I found it pleasurable to be there. One shower though isn't really enough when the place is full. Excellent location, although difficult to find, right by the main square. Unlike many other places in UB the owner isn't ramming tour options down your throat so you can just relax there. Cheap and good value for what you get. Good wifi. Recommend.
Staff were unfriendly. My friend had his food and clothes taken, by staff, from the room claiming they thought he'd left the hostel and when he asked for them to be returned they claimed they couldn't find them. The food at the restaurant they have is delicious but incredibly overpriced. The bathrooms were filthy. Not the worst experience but not great bearing in mind the price of the place.
This place is like a hotel rather than a hostel - it's probably the fanciest hostel I've ever stayed in! Quirky set up with the bar and reception area, liked it. Really clean and good room facilities. EXCELLENT showers with those huge shower heads! Can recommend for sure.
This place had such a cosy atmosphere and homely feel. Lots of cute nooks and crannies to sit in. GREAT food served, lots of variety - especially useful if you're at a stage in your trip when you're missing some of those home comforts - like tea, pancakes or a full English breakfast! Stayed in a dorm which had a shower which is often rare, normally dorms have to use shared showers. Will be going back to this hostel when I am next having to transit Chengdu.
Brand new hostel in a great location - right opposite the metro, easy walking distance to the centre. The café serves excellent food. The staff are friendly though the majority don't speak English superbly, they still try to help wherever they can. Clean comfy rooms - light, locker, wifi. Only recommendations is to produce maps or prepare information for onwards travel as we always will ask for this info, and maybe mop the floor of bathroom more often due to wetness. GREAT HOSTEL, recommend
Upmarket hostel - a little pricey but really lovely place and clean. Aircon in dorm and trendy sink/shower areas and comfy beds. The staff want to help and show you the real Bangkok and have really useful maps. Recommend as a bit of splurge if you're on a budget or if you've got the money for it as it is a comfortable place. DVD's and café too.
Super friendly owner who organises bicycle trips for dinner and round the town. Rooms are ok, nothing special but the price is cheap. Really near to Chinatown. Nice enough place to stay for a couple of days but not out of this world amazing.
Free tea/coffee, huge tv with lots of movies. Good breakfast. Big hostel, lots of floors so feels a bit impersonal but the communal area at the entrance makes up for it. Would recommend.
Nice enough place but nothing special about it. Rooms were comfortable and felt really modern and clean. Breakfast was just toast. Not a bad place, just nothing to write home about IMO.
Big hostel , almost more like a hotel. Central, right near to train and bus station hub. Rooms are comfortable, but there are no communal areas other than the bar to hang out in. Fine as a practical and cheaper option for accommodation in an expensive place!
Ok place but of course just full of kids on working visas living in the dorms giving it a really different vibe. Pretty good location though a walk in the wrong direction to town. Staff are temp workers that are travelling so have little to no knowledge of the city.
