Wombats City Hostel Munich

I had a great stay: the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are amazingly clean, and there is a generally good vibe in the hostel. My only remark would be that, in the impossibility of fitting in a kitchen, perhaps you could make a sink with basic kitchen utensils (e.g. chopping board, knives, plates) available so that one could at least make a salad. Alternatively, a wider choice of food at the bar could be a solution. Other than that it's an awesome hostel!

Located on the very top floor of a building, it can be a bit tiring to carry your luggage up or down, especially when the lift is broken most of the time... Besides that small drawback, the staff was really nice and i found the bed to be incredibly comfy, and the kitchen was very well equipped. It wouldn't hurt to have more people working at reception since there was always quite a wait at the front desk! Overall i had a good stay and would recommend the hostel.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. Unfortunately we have some minor issues with the lift which have now been fixed, we hope this did not affect your stay too much. Thanks for your feedback, we hope that you will come and see us next time you are in Auckland, enjoy NZ! Thanks, The Attic Team :-)

Awesome hostel! Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, spacious, friendly staff.. overall it's a great place! It's not in an ideal location, but it's a short walk to town. The only thing I would suggest is that you find a way to fix the door of room 31 because I woke up a few times in the middle of the night with the door wide open because it doesn't close properly. I would recommend this hostel to anyone!

We had a great stay in one of the private rooms! I thought the front desk was a little understaffed since there was always a queue there, but other than that everything was great! Would definitely stay here again!

Really nice staff, great location, lovely breakfast and comfortable beds! The only thing that annoyed me was the funky smell in the dorm room and the showers + the lock on our room door was busted which was a bit annoying! Other than that, great hostel, would definitely stay here again!

Lovely staff, great breakfast and clean rooms. The hostel lacks a bit of atmosphere since it's more a hotel-style accommodation, but it does have a nice common area and a roof with a nice view. The quotes dispersed throughout the hostel make for some great entertainment haha Overall i had a great stay!

Great location, free dinner (a decent portion even though all the reviews i read said it was small), clean and spacious kitchen, and a nice open space/lounge area. It's definitely a party hostel, but i still managed to get some sleep and wasn't too bothered by the noise. The rooms are a bit small and reception seemed a bit understaffed seeing as there was always a queue, but the staff was really nice. Would stay here again.

I really liked the Parrotfish! The staff is really friendly and helpful, the rooms are big, there is a really nice atmosphere, it's close to town....and the breakfast fruit salad is super tasty!! The only thing i really disliked was the state of the kitchen, which was really dirty and messy, although it was probably due more to the other guests' inability to do their dishes rather than the hostel's cleanliness policy. So, overall, great hostel, would definitely stay here again!

Nice quiet hostel, ideal if you want to spend a calm few days in Port Douglas. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful, the rooms and kitchen are nice and clean, plus there's free wifi and free transfers to/from Cairns!! It's just a short walk from town where you can find a more lively atmosphere if you get tired of the calm :) I had a lovely stay!

Given the price of the dorms, I was expecting the worst...instead what i found was great value for money! Spacious and clean rooms, clean bathrooms/kitchen, and there is even a fridge in your own room! The staff is really friendly and you could not ask for a better location! Doesn't really have a common space to meet people and hang out besides the kitchen, but that is made up for by the fact that you can get a free meal every night! Would definitely recommend this hostel!

Spacious rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff and a free meal every night. Can't argue with that!! Nice quiet hostel with a pool, 10 min walk from town. The only thing i didn't like is the fact that most seats are in the courtyard which means that when it rains (which happened daily) and you want to find a dry spot to sit to eat your meal/chat/read/anything that requires sitting, you can't :( Perhaps you could invest in more chairs...? Other than that i thought it was a great little hostel!

I have mixed feelings about this hostel! I've stayed here a while because of the great location and because the rooms are pretty good compared to other Brisbane hostels but my main issue is with the kitchen! You should invest in more kitchenware + enforce the 'please clean your dishes' policy with fines, since NOBODY seems to clean up after themselves. Also...what's with the lack of recycling guys!! All you need is a different coloured bin! Seriously!Overall good value for money but not the best

Only stayed one night in a double room and we didn't even use the kitchen so i can't really comment on the facilities, but what i can say is that the bed was one of the best i've slept in in a hostel and the free breakfast was such an amazing surprise! Staff were really helpful and nice so overall we had a great stay. It's a bit out of the way if you wanna get to the CBD but the location was great for us since we needed to go elsewhere. Long live the comfy bed!!!

I booked one night in this hostel because everything else in Sydney was booked out. I arrived after 5 days of camping in the bush, where i hadn't had the chance to shower, so i was looking forward to hot running water. When i got out of the (exclusively *cold*) shower i felt dirtier than when i went in. Everything is FILTHY. In retrospective, i think that sleeping in the park would have probably been more pleasant. I don't know why this hostel is allowed to operate. Do not stay here.

Prisca, I am sorry that you had a negative experience when you stayed at Home Backpackers. I just wanted to check whether you made the reception staff aware of the issue with the hotwater in the shower that you used and the cleanliness of the shower in general. If you did make the reception staff aware of this issue then I would hope that they would have advised of the location of other showers within our hostel. We do have multiple boilers within the hostel to ensure that should there be an issue with one that the others still have hot water available. Also i would hope that if the cleanliness of the shower was not at the level that it should be then the staff would have arranged for the shower to be cleaned again by one of the onsite cleners. Again i would like to apologise for your negative experience and I would like to ensure you that we do take all feedback and try and remedy any issues that are raised. Should you have any further comment then please feel from to contact me directly via our website. Kind regards Paul Home Backpackers.

I really loved this hostel but it could be so much better if they invested in a better kitchen. Since there was only one sink people would give up on doing their dishes because of the queue so it was always really dirty, and the hot plates were also very annoying because they didn't work unless something heavy was on them and half the pots were not heavy enough to activate them! i had to go through 3 before getting one to work. Other than that it was really a great hostel!

Nice hostel and very helpful staff. could use a bit of a clean but overall was ok. the only really annoying thing was that all the kitchen stuff is kept at reception so you always have to go back and forth, and at 8pm they close, so if you wanna eat later than that and forget to get everything from reception in time you can't really cook. but other than that i had a good time!

Two great things: 1. hostel is literally ON the beach and 2. the bar has live music so there's always some form of entertainment. Other than that the atmosphere is pretty dead since everyone staying in the hostel seems to be there for work so there is very little going on if you're not working as well. Kitchen is one of the worst i've seen (one sink, no oven and very poorly equipped!) and the rooms are very small. staff were polite to me. Convenient if you're working, otherwise avoid.

Some people are here for 3 days as you were and others are here for several weeks working on the nearby farms. Not everybody can party 7 days a week and some people get up early for work or they do any of the great activities Coffs Harbour has to offer. Our organized activities are for all backpackers to join in, for example our free kangaroo tour, trips to the Big Banana, Botanical Garden, Farmers Market, BBQ Nights, Crab Racing, Beer Pong, Trivia Nights and free live music in our beer garden.

Overall nice hostel. Staff is really nice and the kitchen is well-equipped. The endless supply of movies was also a very useful thing since it rained most of the time i stayed in surfers. Not the cleanest, but i've seen a lot worse so i can't complain. I thought the bar was a bit overpriced for a backpackers hostel, given that you're not allowed to bring in your own alcohol. I stayed in multiple hostels in surfers and this one is not at the top of my list but is still pretty decent.

This hostel is perfect if you have just gotten off the plane and need to nurse your jetlag: it's really quiet and has super comfy beds! realising there's free breakfast was also a great relief each morning! great location if you wanna go to the beach (which is really beautiful in that area) and the hostel's close to all the shops so you dont have to walk far to buy food etc... if you want a party hostel this isn't where i'd recommend you go, but i still really enjoyed its relaxed atmosphere

staff is very friendly and helpful, everyone gets a free locker with their keycard, free internet, the hostel is easy to reach by metro ( and with the nightbus) and the area is quite safe and is walking-distance from sagrada familia. However, the hostel lacks character, the rooms aren't that clean and the breakfast can hardly be called breakfast. if you only need a place to crash this hostel is fine but i wouldn't stay here again unless i had no other choice.
