Chile Pepper Hostel

Santiago, Chile

After a spree of less-than-satisfactory places, it was nice to stay at the Chili Pepper Hostel. The beds were roomy and comfortable, and even though it was quiet when we stayed, they definitely have all the facilities needed for a fun time: good common rooms, pool table, outdoor area, etc. Mia the friendly pooch added to the atmosphere and we were in a pleasant neighbourhood on the fringe of some trendy, upscale eateries. Would definitely come back.

The Sirena Insolente Hostel

Pichilemu, Chile

Really neat hostel with roomy, comfortable beds and a particularly nice outdoor area for hanging out. It's a close walk to Punta de Lobos and also to the main road heading to town, so you can easily hitchhike to Pichilemu with the friendly locals. Definitely a surfer crowd at the hostel, and they were a friendly bunch regardless of whether you actually surf or not. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Viejo Lobo

Cabo Polonio, Uruguay

This was a fun and satisfying place to stay in Cabo Polonio. It feels like a fun little community, where people cook and play cards together, and you will find more than enough fun things to do even without the luxury of 24/7 electricity. Cat friendly place too, which is great unless you have allergies - in that case ask for one of the bunks downstairs. Thanks for everything, this was a truly memorable stay.

Cafe Hostel

Sao Paulo, Brazil

This place has really great staff - super friendly and helpful, and pleasant to chat with. It's conveniently located in one of São Paulo's most artistic and interesting neighbourhoods too, so big kudos there. I do wish the dorm rooms (or at least the 9-person one) had racks or some sort of system to store packs. The room gets a bit cluttered with everyone's belongings and I ended up finding some of my gear kicked under someone else's bed. Other than that, a seriously good place.

Allbags Hostel

We stayed in a private room for a shockingly reasonable price and were very impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities, as well as the location. The staff are friendly and helpful, and we were particularly thankful gor the owner Leo's kindness in letting us store our baggage and take showers long after checkout. Neat neighbourhood, no complaints - highly recommended.

Our stay was really enjoyable, and Mamma and Pappa were so lovely and friendly. They had cleaning ladies in everyday, which was much appreciated, and they were also really helpful with local and onward travel suggestions.

The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, and the location is perfect. There´s a nice courtyard and hammocks, which is condusive to hanging out and meeting other hostelers. We had an empanada-making class which helped us get to know more people there, so that was nice. And the breakfast was amazing!! We still talk about the crepes and omelettes weeks after our stay.

H Rado Hostel

Santiago, Chile

This place was great - helpful friendly staff, clean facilities, huge locker for luggage, insane proximity to nightlife and that patio is incredible. Gives you the option of hanging out in the indoor common room, which seemed more low-key, while the outdoor common area and patio provided a much more social, lets-crack-some-beers-together sort of environment. Good stuff.
