Not worth it for over 26 year olds without HI membership. Their page on hostelworld is not clear with regards to extra costs. Be aware that if you are over 26 without HI membership, it is an extra 4 euro surcharge for your age plus 3.10 euro for not being a HI member, per night. My locker did not work and after raising this and receiving another key, that locker did not work either. The 6 bed dorm is too small. On the plus side, the free breakfast is good and the place is very clean.

The staff had a tendency to be rude. Better customer service skills would be appreciated. Not ideal for a backpacker as the hostel had lots of children running around in the foyer area which is the only area where you can use the internet. On the plus side, the free breakfast is amazing with hot food!! The hostel is very clean with comfortable beds.

A great hostel. Great place to meet people with a bar. The bar is excellent (I got a fantastic mojito with fresh mint from the garden!!). Slight criticism is that you have to pay for breakfast which isn’t really worth it.

Great hostel to stay in. Very good for meeting people. The main disadvantage is the location but there is an easy tram that will get you in the centre.

It was a pleasure to stay at this hostel. I especially like that they have a social event organised for every day of the week.

The hostel was clean, with comfortable beds and nice rooms. The hostel is only a few stops from the city centre by underground (takes about 20 mins) and only 2 or 3 stops from the Reeperbahn. The wi-fi worked fine. If you are planning to self cater be aware that the kitchen is very small so be prepared so wait your turn or get there early. The lockers were faulty but the rooms had locks. The breakfast for just under 6 euro is not worth it in my opinion but its decent with a few extra goodies.

A very clean hostel with a good breakfast. The hostel wasn’t ideal for meeting people. The bar was very quiet. Staff were very helpful, however some advice on what to see would be a welcome addition. Good checkout time of 11:30am.

I stayed in the Womens’ hostel down the road which was very clean. Decent breakfast. The wi-fi in the Womens’ hostel did not work. Two bathrooms weren’t enough but it just meant you had to wait. If you are planning to go out at night make sure you know the time of the last metro as you don’t want to be stuck walking home as it’s a 45 minute walk roughly. Overall a good hostel and I would stay here again.

Clean rooms, kitchen & bathrooms. Excellent location. Fantastic staff - very friendly & helpful. Common room can be a bit quiet - hard to meet people outside of your room. Great hommus place next to the hostel downstairs, cheap too.

I stayed in a single room for only 1 night. Room immaculately clean. Staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. Fantastic outdoor area to socialise in. Staff take people out so you're guaranteed to find good bars/clubs. Cute cat too! Only fault is that the bathroom could have been cleaner. Overall a great hostel, I would go back.

The war tour is reason enough to stay at the hostel, you will go to places where the average Sarajevo tourist hasn't been. The hostel is very clean and the staff are fantastic. The hostel is small but I would definately go back as the positives outweigh the negatives. Not the most social hostel but I met some cool people in my room.

Hostel Majdas (former Majdas Rooms)

Mostar, Bosnia And Herzegovina
100%

My first 100% review. Free breakfast is amazing, for example, french toast, eggs on toast, some kind of pastry dumplings. Staff are very hospitable and kind. Immaculately clean. However, I do have some constructive criticism - it would be better to take payment from people upon arrival, rather than repeatedly remind people of the need to pay during the course of their stay.

Pros- decent kitchen, clean rooms & bathroom, TV in rooms, getting picked up from the station. Cons- bit of a walk to the old town but not too bad (tip- make sure you keep track of how you got to the old town the first time there to prevent getting lost on your wav back).

Positive points- clean, organised going out nights every night, good to meet people, good kitchen, good location, excellent outside terrace with a good view. Negative points- unorganised introduction, no lock on bathroom door in the room next to the kitchen, unfortunately walked in on, annoying signs around the hostel displaying rules with monetary penalties. Tip- if you plan on getting sleep ear plugs are a must!! Make sure you label all of your food to prevent it being thrown.

Gordana is absolutely one of the best hosts I have come across. The hostel is immaculately clean. Good kitchen. No fee for laundry. Good common area. For me, the location was ideal– close to centre and old town. A bit of a walk to the beach, approx 45 mins but you can get an easy bus, 11 kuna. This is more of a chilled, relaxed hostel, not a party hostel but still easy to meet people. Highly recommended and would come back.

Hostel Mali Mrak Zagreb

Zagreb, Croatia

I stayed here for one night. The staff are really awesome - very friendly and helpful. The beds and bathroom are clean. Free laundry which is very handy. Good common room and internet facilities. Unfortunately it doesn't take 30 mins to walk there from the train station, it takes about an hour at a moderate pace. A little too far out of central Zagreb for my liking but the hostel is in a quiet neighbourhood which is rather pleasant. Close to a shopping centre, cafes and pubs etc.

Top marks for cleanliness. The staff are friendly & helpful. You will get a map upon arrival. Within walking distance to everything. There is a supermarket down the road. Staff genuinely want you to have a good time. Disadvantages- breakfast is not great (simply bread, spreads, tea & coffee). There is an oven, but no stove. You will be asked to leave the outside area at midnight. No locks on the doors, but there are lockers in the room. Lock out from 11 to 2pm.

Giovanni is an excellent host. He provides you with a detailed map of the city. Giovanni is very hospitable and kind. He genuinely wants you to enjoy his city. I felt safe at the hostel. The bedrooms & bathrooms are very clean. I loved the atmosphere at the hostel, it attracts a lot of cool people. There is a terrace. Some minor disadvantages- the computers are a little buggy and the internet is slow. There are no individual lockers in the rooms (however deliberate to promote family environment)

Very clean & secure. Excellent kitchen to save some cash. Bed and pillow were pretty comfy. Unfortunately staff weren't amazing but helpful enough. Being charged 2 euro to leave my bag there for half the day annoyed me, as did lack of 24 hour reception. Also the internet facilities were reasonable but not the best

Clean bed & bathroom. Secure. Great location. Unfortunately the kitchen is too small and there are not enough reliable computers with a good internet connection (at the time of my stay there were only 2 computers and only 1 was working for the internet). It´s also a pity that the only common area (the upstairs terrace) is only open until midnight.

Sevilla Hostel One Centro

Hosts were helpful and recommend great places to go. This hostel takes you to places that tourists wouldn´t normally go, i.e. flamenco shows for the locals. The location of the hostel was fine, but not amazing. It is within walking distance of the main attractions. The kitchen was great with free tea and coffee, and spices to cook with. The only downfall was the hostel room could have been a little cleaner. The windowsill hadn´t been cleaned in a while.Keep windows closed as a lot of mozzies etc
