Delta Hotel Hong Kong

The Hostel was good. The staff were very helpful and able to assist with all our questions. The rooms were clean. The location was good in that it was right by the Tsim Sha Tsui subway stop and an easy walk to the Pier to get over to Central, but the Chungking Mansion was an interesting building. The downside is, as with anything in HK rooms were tiny and the elevator was so small and crowded. If you're claustrophobic, I don't recommend. Also, while the A/C worked well it was really loud.

The best thing about this place was the convenient location to the Subway. It was less than a block away from the subway in a Chinese neighborhood. It was also very peaceful, alongside a canal. The staff were friendly but could improve at helping tourists with ideas. It was a little difficult to find at first. Exit subway and turn left and walk to the end of the road. The hostel is at the back of a gravel parking lot on your left.

Guilin Riverside Hostel

Overall the hostel was great. It was in a good location and right by the river. It's only a few blocks to Elephant Trunk Hill and not much further to the main market/downtown area of Guilin. The staff were helpful. We took the Li River tour and the Longji Rice Terrace tour. The tour company for the Li River was not very good and kept pushing us to add more onto the tour. Also, they combined a Chinese tour with ours so much of our time was spent listening to a guide speak Chinese.

Overall this place was great! The staff and lobby atmosphere were amazing. The rooms were fine. It's location was right alongside the river and, if you're a walker - not a bad walk to the lights of Chengdu. The Panda tour/Sichuan Opera combo is a great deal and I recommend it. Also, the hostel gives a good map of Chengdu and the neighborhood but not really to scale. The one down side is it's not around a lot of entertainment places but if they do have a nice drinking area in the lobby.

The location was very good, right by the Bell Tower and only a block away from the Drum Tower/Muslim Quarter. Plus it was a short 3 blocks away to the South Gate of the City Wall. The group was mostly Chinese people not a Western crowd so conversation with my roommates was difficult but some could speak English a little. Terracotta tour was great but the return trip was strange. They wanted us to sit in the car while the 2 people in the van went to this museum - or we could pay extra.

Beijing Leo Hostel

This hostel was fine and the staff were helpful enough but could use some work on their English. The Great Wall Tour was perfect so it's a must do and relatively affordable considering you are taken to a location away from the tourist trap :) The food is good but did seem a bit expensive for some dishes and the social area where you eat was very smoky. The rooms were a bit tight for the double but the dorms were spacious for big city dorms.

Hello Thank you for your comments. Sorry, some of the reception staff are new - they should be a lot better soon! We are happy you liked our famous secret wall tour - it is much better than the other walls! We are considering making a no smoking side of the bar - hopefully this will help. See you next time! The internet worked perfectly. The directions were good and the location was OK. Not too far walk from the metro and train station and close to the Raohe Night Market. It was relatively close to the Taipei business district but a little far from the action of Taipei other than the night market. It had an interesting character in that there are many people who live there but I in general those that live there were relatively separated from the short time guests. Facilities were very good.

This hostel was great and in large part due to the staff and there helpfulness with how to see and do things in Hong Kong the most affordable way. Take the bus in - by far the best way, Last one leaves after midnight! They have maps and everything you need :) Internet works great, coffee in the mornings and tea all day is a big plus. Hong Kong is expensive but this place was just what I needed to make the most out of my limited budget in HK! I will stay there again my next trip!
