Located in the tourist backpackers area this is one of many hostels around. The lady running this place is very helpful and sincere. She is the only one who speaks good English so if she isn't around, which happened quite often (but only temporary) it is difficult to ask for information, help or whatever you want.

Sunflower Hotel Hoi An

This hostel is based in a former hotel so rooms are spacious and facilities are great considering the price. Location is good too. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is outdated though. There are a lot of partygoers in this hostel so expect stupid touristy behaviour. The only downside is that the taxi to the airport (which they arranged for me) tried to rip me off. That is of course what every taxi driver does but if the hostel/hotel arranges one for you, I expect different.

Good hostel in a good location. Helpful and funny staff, yet they seem to forget who you are because "foreigners all look alike". The dorm I stayed in was a bit cramped but beds are excellent. Booked a tour with them to Sapa, which was a bit disappointing but, after hearing my review, the hostel immediately called the tour operator for an explanation and apologized.

I really enjoyed staying at this hostel. It is a small hostel and the staff is very friendly, flexible and personal. They are always there to help you and make you feel at home. The location could be better but that is not a big problem. Everything you need is nearby. The rooms tend to be hot in the summer, there is no airco. There is a lot of outside noise in the dorms so light sleepers will find themselves often woken up. Also the beds aren't the best. But hey the hostel is cheap!

East Side Hostel

The room we booked was full, so they gave us a complete appartment elsewhere in the city instead. The ride to the appartment was paid for by the hostel so the initial dissapointment was soon gone. The appartment was very large, we had our own kitchen, bathroom (with bathtub) and three seperate bedrooms (for six people). The place was not the cleanest though. Staff was friendly and the location of the appartment was excellent.

The hostel has a nice, chill-out atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and you can use the kitchen+frigde for cooking your own food. The room however was not very clean and the matrasses sucked. You could feel every spring in there.
