Like home away from home. A 10 minute taxi ride from the main town, but close to a market and bakery with great facilities for cooking. Ask for Feliciano if you are interested in some guided hikes or coffee. Big thanks to Charlie for going above and beyond on everything.

Great experience. Staff were some of the kindest, most helpful people we've met on our travels. BIG THANKS! Easy-going atmosphere. Easy to meet like-minded people, and a great jumping-off point for many island activities. Located on the smaller island of Bastimentos, so come prepared for freshwater rationing, and with extra cash for water taxi's and meals (no kitchen access for guests - but delicious breakfast options). Not for the luxury traveler or those looking to party hard.

Hostel Urbano Yoses, San Jose, Costa Rica

20th Jul 2016

A beautifully re-purposed building with a great back garden and other communal areas. Could use a bigger fridge for the number of people and the 8 bed dorm room was a bit cramped, but the staff were incredibly helpful. The "little black book" of things to do in the city and directions to your next location was traveling GOLD. Thanks so much to everyone. Would come back to San Jose just for another night here.

Sleepers Sleep Cheaper Hostel, Monteverde, Costa Rica

12th Jul 2016

Easy to find and as close as you could get to the main streets in town. Rooms were spotless, cheap and timely laundry services, and one of the most complete breakfasts offered of anywhere we've ever stayed (cereal, toast, eggs, and they cook everything). Ronnie and family were incredibly knowledgeable and were wicked helpful when asked about activities and tours (both paid and free). Only downside, not really any large communal areas for those looking to meet other travelers at night.

Hostel Bekuo San Jose, San Jose, Costa Rica

5th Jul 2016

Spent 3 nights in at Bekuo while visiting San Jose. Had a really relaxed vibe and a good balance between communal spaces and privacy/quiet for those looking to get some rest. A well equipped kitchen and BBQ grill made it easy to cook for ourselves, and the staff had great suggestions for where to eat out. Front desk was helpful with bus schedules, maps, and tours. Brian can tell you all you need to know about San Jose or gems in Costa Rica - Quincy has a great attitude and helped out a lot too.

Bathrooms and bedrooms were passably clean but the kitchen/dining area was a constant mess and facilities were not equipped for the number of people staying. Fine for a one night stay as it is near to bus station and ferry pier, but for anyone staying longer this isn't the friendly hostel atmosphere we'd hoped for.

A great place to stay if you're already traveling with friends. Super clean, easy access to laundry and computers with a nice breakfast and accommodating breakfast hours. This is normally a student residence though, so don't expect organized activities or common areas for meeting other backpackers.

Hostel ROOM Rotterdam, Rotterdam, Netherlands

We booked a 12 bed dorm but they added beds to the room. This made an already crowded room extremely uncomfortable. It would have been fine if they simply notified us in advance but they didn't tell us at check-in nor did they compensate us in any way. No one is in the bar late at night but they still play the music until 2a or later. You can easily hear this on the ground level and first floor when you're trying to sleep. They REALLY need to clean the bathrooms more frequently. Not Impressed.

Clean, quiet, and homey. Loved our stay here and the staff were so friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the city that we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else should we return. Great place to meet other travelers and figure out where to start in a city with so much to do. Thanks especially to Evi!

Most comfortable beds of any hostel we've stayed. Breakfast and facilities were nice and the staff was helpful in figuring out what to do and how to get there. The 8 bed dorm was actually 12 beds, with four separated by a curtain.

View Property Reply

The 8 bed dorm is a separate 8 bed dorm normally. In fact we moved the 8 beds for few days in order to make the springtime general cleaning in that rooms and not cancel the bookings for that reason. It was a transition situation. Now, we are happy to say that the 8 bed dorm is a spotless clean " 8 bed dorm". :)

The Flying Fox was a home away from home, complete with family that it was just as hard to say goodbye to when it was time to move on. Includes: breakfast, free internet, trail and lookout maps (and people who've done them to make suggestions), occasional pasta dinners, great campfire area, bedtime cookies, tea/coffee, and so much more.
