Overall the hostel has a great kitchen, common room and dining room and the staff are fantastic. The bathrooms could use a thorough cleaning and there were fruit flies through the dorm room. The location is great and the hostel is in a nice part of town, but the front door is left constantly open and there were a couple of older homeless-looking people sitting right outside the door the night I stayed there.
Excellent facilities with quiet common rooms, tv room, computer room, etc. It is a bit of a party hostel, plus they let groups of school children stay there. The kids were constantly running around unsupervised and shouting at each other and generally being a nuisance, which ruined the feel of the place.
There were few other travelers to meet, aside from a large group of school children. I don't think hostels should be taken over by kids needing supervision. The location is impossible to reach without a car. The hostel didn't update the directions from their page (there is tunnel construction and good luck trying to guess your way there). The hostel itself was beautiful and clean with knowledgeable staff and was close to hikes in the Headlands, and Mt. Tam (if you had a car).
Excellent staff and common room for chatting with other travellers. Showers are a bit small but very clean! Free computer to use at the hostel. Great local advise and excellent location. Would definitely recommend to other travellers!!
Breakfast can be good as long as you get there before it runs out. Sometimes a bit noisy, but ear plugs will block it out. Far from most sights but the metro is easy to use. Staff generally very nice and helpful.
Very clean with great staff. Breakfast is minimal and needs a donation. Close to the main harbour and most sights in Marseille.
Party hostel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cheap laundry. Bathrooms need cleaning more often. Good breakfast. Have to walk up a big, STEEP hill to get to it, and far from old town.
AMAZING breakfast - best I have ever had while traveling. Very clean and spacious. Good internet access. Close to the Vatican and lots of sites, incl. a lot of great restaurants.
Very sweet and helpful landlady. The house is a 4 floor 17th century Valletta stone home and very beautiful. Decent breakfast. Very close to main bus station.
