We had a really really good time. Michel and his wife were great hosts who offered a service way beyond what we expected from a B&B (free bike tour of Bordeaux, tour of the amazing house and garden, and just generally helpful!).

We had a really great stay - Miguel is a great host! It's a very homely hostel and we would definitely choose Pension Amalur again when we come back to San Sebastian. We were offered discounted, secure parking as well which was very convenient.

I was a bit surprised that there were no locks on the entrances to the hostel - that is why I have said the security was average. Apart from that there were good locks on all the dorm rooms and also big lockers inside the rooms.

Owner Comment (Hide)
Dear A. We do not understand your feedback, we do have our entrance locked. In addition, we have 24h reception and security camaras. To get into the rooms area you need to have your RFID key card to get to the elevator and then again to get into your rooms In any case, many thanks for your stay. We hope you had a great trip Best U Hostels team

Exactly what we wanted. Only problems were that our bed linens hadn't been washed and our bathroom door didn't shut, meaning that going to the toilet wasn't a private experience!

The Secret Garden Quito

Great location, nice hostel and great views. Rooms were adequate and bathroom was clean enough. Only problem was the volunteers. They were very unhelpful; they didn't seem to know anything about Quito. In the evenings on the terrace, when most guests were sitting around talking, eating and relaxing, it was only the volunteers who insisted on blaring music out, late into the night, to the extent that many guests went to their rooms as they couldn't hear the other person in their conversation.
