In the downtown area of the city but somewhat far from the points of interest, so there's was some walking around which can be a problem in a city as hot as Asuncion. The staff was nice and helpful. I just hoped they would offer me a map and explain the city a little bit when I checked in. Breakfast is very simple: bread, butter, some fruit, cereal, and eggs if you ask for them. As for the security, all the lockers in the dorm I stayed were broken, I hope they have plans to fix that.

We went to Ouro Preto for New Year's eve and were disappointed to find out nothing was going on in the city. Mama and Papa made sure we had a great experience nonetheless. They are so nice and helpful and happy that the atmosphere at this place could not be any better. It felt really good to join the other guests and talk, party, share experiences. As for the facilities and dorms there are a lot of room for improvement, which seems to be happing already, so it's no big deal. Just book it!
It was a pleasant stay, the staff was helpful and kind and the facilities were good. Good showers, which is definitely important. Standard breakfast. My only complaint would be the fan in the dorm which was not very effective for the size of the room, and the weather was incredibly hot during our stay. As for the location it is not too far away from Savassi, where all the action happens, and there are enough restaurants and amenities around. All in all I think you get your money's worth.
The hostel is okay, but the private room we stayed in was far away from the showers and the only window faced the common area so the noise was a big problem. The staff was nice and helpful enough. Location is good for the price we paid, everything else in the region costs twice as much. The social aspect is very lacking, no events or even a wall with suggestions of things to do around the city.
Pretty standard. Nice location.
Someone needs to rethink those lockers. Anyone can access the stuff by simply lifting the mattresses.
It is an old building, but the adaptations they've made are great. The bathrooms are good, very clean and the showers have good pressure. The staff is great, very helpful and always with a smile on their faces. Breakfast is also good. As for the downside: the location is not the greatest in Viña. It is farly close to the sea and there are bus stops and a metro station nearby. The hostel is on a hill so you'll have to walk (and get tired) anyway. A lot of stairs.
A great place to stay in Santiago, right in front of the metro Bellas Artes and a walk away from the Bellavista neighborhood (where all the action is). There are supermarkets, bars and cafes all around. The staff is very helpful, there are activities every night and the vibe is great. My only complaint is that the shower in the private room I stayed was not very good (not enough pressure and it would take ages for the water the heat), the common showers are great though. All in all, I recommend!
Not a good hostel.
Good hostel, very friendly staff that will try and help you. The hostel itself does not promote activities but will help you with tips and booking of tours and etc.

The first thing you need to know about this hostel: it's above both a pub and a night club. So if you're all about the party, great. If you just want to get some sleep make sure to have ear plugs and pills or find another place to stay. The location is great, right in the Red Light District and in a walking distance from the Centraal Station. Breakfast is included and is very good.
Great hostel. The staff is what makes it a great place to stay as they'll help you get around the city and socialize when you decide to just hang out.
