The hostel was really nice except for the fact that it was quite hard to find. The directions given were not very clear and the hostel is not clearly visible as an hostel. If you would improve upon that it would make it even better!

The staff was extremely helpful, the room was good enough and the bar/restaurant was sufficient but good value for money. We wanted to go to another opera show than the one offered by the hostel so one of the ladies went out of the way to find tickets for us and reserved them on her own name. Additionally, I was looking for a set of dumpling baskets (for steaming them) but could not find them anywhere. While we were in the city the next day one of the staff members went to buy them for me.
The hostel was very pubertal. The staff was not helpful at all and made you feel unwelcome at times. The food was bad and you had to wait for 45 minutes for it to arrive.
The location was good, but overall it was just a regular hostel, nothing special about it. However the staff was horrible, not helpful at all. First we were brought to a room without windows and told there were no other rooms at all in the hostel. After getting quite annoyed we were suddenly brought to a regular room. In addition, we were told there was a dryer in the hostel, but after we washed all our clothes we found out there was none.
We had a nice stay here, it was a good and different experience then normal hotel/hostels. However, Zhuo Ma was absent during our stay, thus it was difficult to communicate as we do not speak Chinese or Tibetan.
The only thing that is annoying about this hostel is that there is really nothing to complain....
It was an average hostel with helpful staff in a good location. There is nothing really special about it but a good hostel overall.
