It is a perfectly fine place to stay for one or two nights, nothing special. It is a bit disappointing that there was no breakfast included and this was a little far walk.
Although the price was very affordable I was very disappointed. The staff was always staring at their phones and always gave me the feeling I was disturbing them when approaching them. There are no atmosphere at all, and it was very run down.

A very normal average hotel. Nothing special whatsoever.
This is really a family home you are staying in. Do not expect to stay in a Ryokan. But if you expect this then it is a good place to stay. It is located in a very central spot.
I wasn´t the biggest fan of this hostel. The location was ok, close to a train station but quite far away from all activities. The facilities were ok but there was no common area to relax in. Thus you were stuck to relax in your bed, which is not very nice. You can go downstairs to Micheal´s pub but they happened to be closed on the day we were there.

This was truly a great hostel. It is right in the middle of the dear park which i found great. Although it is about 30 minutes walk from the centre, a pretty walk though. The owner is super nice and welcoming and goes out of his way to make your stay perfect. I really recommend this hostel if you plan to stay in Nara!
The best hostel I've ever been in in terms of cleanliness and facilities. There was however not really a "hostel" atmosphere. But i did not see this as a problem.
A really great hostel with very friendly guys who run it. We felt right at home here and really enjoyed our (short) stay.
Overall a fine hostel
A centrally located hostel where you are enthusiastically welcomed by the owners Lucy and John. There is however not really an atmosphere that lets people interact. It is mostly used by Koreans.
The hostel was really nice except for the fact that it was quite hard to find. The directions given were not very clear and the hostel is not clearly visible as an hostel. If you would improve upon that it would make it even better!
The staff was extremely helpful, the room was good enough and the bar/restaurant was sufficient but good value for money. We wanted to go to another opera show than the one offered by the hostel so one of the ladies went out of the way to find tickets for us and reserved them on her own name. Additionally, I was looking for a set of dumpling baskets (for steaming them) but could not find them anywhere. While we were in the city the next day one of the staff members went to buy them for me.
The hostel was very pubertal. The staff was not helpful at all and made you feel unwelcome at times. The food was bad and you had to wait for 45 minutes for it to arrive.
The location was good, but overall it was just a regular hostel, nothing special about it. However the staff was horrible, not helpful at all. First we were brought to a room without windows and told there were no other rooms at all in the hostel. After getting quite annoyed we were suddenly brought to a regular room. In addition, we were told there was a dryer in the hostel, but after we washed all our clothes we found out there was none.
We had a nice stay here, it was a good and different experience then normal hotel/hostels. However, Zhuo Ma was absent during our stay, thus it was difficult to communicate as we do not speak Chinese or Tibetan.
The only thing that is annoying about this hostel is that there is really nothing to complain....
It was an average hostel with helpful staff in a good location. There is nothing really special about it but a good hostel overall.
