Good location and rooms were clean. The lady who runs the place is really nice, however the man who works at night speaks absolutely no English and I witnessed being a bit rude to people. At about 11pm he let someone in who was asking for a bed for the night and kept him waiting for about 30 mins (no English was a barrier), when eventually someone got on the phone and told him it was full for the night. Location is great which is why I picked the place, not an easy place to meet people though

Location and facilities were great. Staff were ok, but seemed like they were constantly high, and the admin side of things was a mess. Friends asked to extend and they said there was no availability, then they checked hostelworld and there was. Pool is a massive bonus

Too many bad bad reviews on here for this hostel that aren't deserved. Hostel was in a great location, nice staff, really good social area and facilities. Could be cleaner, but hey- it isn't filthy! Should definitely stay here in pai

Nice hostel in a good location. Amy was so lovely upon check in, and all of the staff were really helpful. the atmosphere was lacking a little for me, but maybe it's just low season. Met a couple of lovely girls in my room thankfully otherwise I would have been lonely as a solo traveller! Pros- good location, free bike rental, 20baht for a load of washing with free detergent, free water, tea, coffee, buscuits (dangerous!), clean bathroom and good shower. Ticks nearly all the boxes for me

Good location for a hostel. I did the recommended scooter tour on my first day and met some cool people to hang out with. Good workout! Glad I did it, as the atmosphere at the hostel itself was lacking a bit for me. Singapore is an expensive city, so the kitchen could really be improved by having cooking facilities (stove would be great). Overall I had a good stay, the price was competitive and the location was ideal

View Property Reply

The kitchen has a stove, oven, microwave, rice cooker, toasters, fridge, pots and pans, and a whole array of kitchen utensils and cutlery. Guests have cooked everything from baking quiche and cookies to cooking pasta and curries. Everything can be easily found in the kitchen by opening the kitchen cabinet doors and drawers.

Not the greatest location as there isn't much around this area. Staff are friendly and faculties and good. I only stayed two nights and having been to Bangkok before, this was more of a stop over and I really just wanted to catch up on "life admin" and chill out. Wifi was good, but if you are more of a social person looking for a good atmosphere, I'd stay elsewhere

Great hostel. Staff were very helpful also. I checked in at about 12.30am and was exhausted after a flight. I could feel the base coming through my bed from a nearby club, and the staff happily moved me to a room on a higher floor and I was so grateful. Good vibe downstairs at night, everyone gets involved and up dancing on the tables/bar. Stay here if you want to party in Hanoi

Thank you for your 100% review! We're super pleased to hear that you enjoyed so many aspects of you stay and that you had fun in the bar downstairs. Our English speaking 24-receptionists are there to make sure you have a comfortable stay so it's great to learn they did exactly that for you. Hope you've been enjoying the rest of your travels. Good place to stay in hoi an. Pool area and atmosphere are great. Did see some big rats running around near the pool, but that's Vietnam I guess. Free breakfast is the best I've had in SE Asia- chef cooks eggs how you like. Staff could be a little rude at times. Weirdly, when the lights were turned off in my dorm (203), it cut off all power except the air con, so you couldn't charge your phone at night. There was also only two power points next to each other (right over someone else's bed)

Stayed in the 10 bed basic dorm and no complaints here. Beds were comfortable and there was a small fan on each bed. There wasn't really much vibe at all the two nights that I stayed. Most of the western staff were off at night, not sure if they normally pump the guests to a bit more, but it seemed like there was no real order with the Cambodian staff. Would Have been very bored had I stayed more than 2 nights. Other than that, the view was incredible and water beautiful and clear

Good hostel, great location. Best bathrooms I've ever seen in a hostel. the hostel doesn't have much of a "party" vibe, but it was nice to go out along the Main Street or the beach and come back to a nice, quiet, clean hostel. Unfortunately the laundry service shrunk quite a lot of my washing, however the staff were apologetic and I was compensated a little. They organised my Vietnam visa also with no trouble. Would definitely stay here again

Disappointed in my stay here after reading some good reviews. I paid the extra for an A/C room and wish I didn't- it wasn't cold enough and with no fan in the room the air wasn't circulating. Slept in a pool of sweat! Dorms are on level 4- lots of stairs! You aren't supposed to flush toilet paper in Cambodia, but there was no bin in the toilet? Or toilet paper for that Matter. Great hostel. Paid the little extra for the A/C room and glad I did- Room was at a good temperature and comfortable beds. Locker was attached to the end of the bed which was convenient and a good idea. Staff organised for us to go to the circus which was a good night out- 1L water bottle refills for 25c, and they were happy to give a cup with some ice for free. Everything is put on a tab to pay at the end, much easier than working out change for everything. Stay here in Battambang for sure

Great hostel. Airport pick up was there waiting for me. Dorms are clean and well air conditioned. Food is decent- 50c beer during happy hour. Regular drink specials. Good for solo travelers- there is a board you can sign up to see the temples with other people if you are traveling alone to share the tuk tuk cost. I cut my stay short in Siem Reap and the hostel was happy for me to only pay for the nights I stayed. Worth splashing out a little extra to stay here

Definitely not the best hostel I've ever stayed in but not the worst either. For 25 pound a night I wasn't really impressed though. Beds are small and the mattresses are cheap thin foam. I was late to check out and therefore lost my 10 pound key deposit which I understand, however when I went to reception to check out there was a sign that said "Back in 15 minutes" and i waited for over half an hour just to check out. Quite frustrating! Location is good and close to camden station and markets

Pretty disappointed to learn I was paying €23 a night and the guy in the bed next to me was paying €15. Quite a difference for the exact same thing! Showers were really small and no space to get dressed in private so you have no choice other than changing in front of others which is embarrassing. Aside from that, staff were friendly and it felt like staying in a friends apartment . Good wifi and TV room

The price changes everyday! If there's a lot of beds avalible, we obviously put the price down. If you run a business one day, you'll easily understand that! :D

The girl who first checked us in with the long curly dark hair was nice and helpful when we asked questions about the city, however was a bit disappointed with my stay. We came from oasis Seville which was great but oasis Malaga had no hot water, our door was broken so couldn't close to outside, there were no enforced noise restrictions and our room was right off the kitchen so we were kept awake all night. When asking staff about these issues always told "ill ask the manager" but no resolution

Wasn't as good as Oasis Seville where we had just come from but still a decent hostel. Location is amazing, staff are friendly and good atmosphere. Losing huge points for no aircon though and inadequate fans to compensate for it. Was waking up at night covered in sweat. The one and only room fan was 1m high so my poor friend on the top bunk had no airflow whatsoever and the temp in the room according to the thermometer on the wall ranged from 30-32 degrees all day and night

Wow. €11 a night and it was "hostel luxury"! Aircon, private bathroom. Great location, free wifi, clean rooms. can't believe the price we paid for what we received. Only complaint was we paid €18 to go on the tapas tour, the guide picked us up and we walked all the way there to find out it was cancelled. We were refunded our money though and offered 50% off the bill at that restaurant so we had a great €6 dinner with drinks that worked out better for us anyway! Definitely stay here in Seville!

For €14 a night I expected the worst, and got the best. Best bathrooms I've ever had in a hostel, great dorm rooms. Our flight was delayed 8 hrs meaning we missed a nights accommodation and they took that off the price of our stay. Went to the flamenco show with the hostel for €13, Pablo the host did a good job, lots of energy- the right kind of person to be working at a hostel. Overall very very impressed. Cinema room also a big plus- comfy place to sleep before check in time!

Wasn't wrapped in paradise beach club. Had just come from iOS and the value for money here is not even remotely comparable. We paid €65 each for a twin room, and this didn't even include wifi. Some staff were lovely, others quite rude. We were told to be at reception at 4pm for a 6.30 ferry, came at 4pm and they said they wouldn't take us till 5. Was a inconvenient because we had our suitcases and everything packed up and ready. I then got told off once for lying on the couch, and feet on couch

Stayed in a deluxe private and was pleasantly surprised with the room. There was a king sized bed, tv.small bathroom. It was noisy but considering the location there's not much you can do. I returned on my own 2 days later and stayed in a 10 bed dorm. I hate to wrongly accuse but I have a lot of bites over me since my stay. I was only away for one weekend and stayed at a friends the night in between. Call me paranoid but I think I may have been bitten by bed bugs, will go to docs soon if worsens

Hi there, thank you very much for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your time in the private room but are afraid to hear that you might have been bitten. Just so you know we have strict procedures in place when we become aware of any incidents like this and the rooms will get sprayed. We hope you get better soon and hope you will stay with us again in the future. Thanks Nomads Auckland Management

my second stay at surf city, would definately stay there again. Its not the 'nicest' hostel I've ever stayed in but you can't fault that location, i could see the beach from my window

I only stayed here one night, I got in late and left early in the morning. It is a really nice place but because it is a hostel/hotel it doesn't have the same feel as a regular hostel. The guy on the front desk, i think his name was bruno, was really nice and helpful with everything. It is a little more expensive than some hostels, my stay cost me 30 something for one night, and i had just stayed at Jazz on Southbeach in Miami before that for $12 a night

Good hostel, great location. I know it's not the hostels fault but there are a lot of weirdos staying there! I also think they need to enforce age restrictions because they call themselves the #1 party hostel but 50% of the guests are 35+ !

great hostel, was my second time staying there and would definitely recommend and stay there again. There are en suites in the rooms which is great, its a shame there is no kitchen.. but there are signs saying they can't get one coz of some legal restrictions so not their fault. cant fault the location!

Amazing hostel!! i cant believe this isn't the first to pop up on a search for hostels in budapest! I already wrote a huge review on trip advisor but hands down the best hostel I have ever stayed at. I have never felt more at home in a hostel and as a solo traveller they make sure you never feel alone. Every night there are awesome things on, they make it sooo hard to leave !!

Given that its both a hostel and a hotel it doesn't have the hostel feel with common areas, kitchen, etc. It was really hard to sleep because the bar/nightclub downstairs was playing really loud music till 2-3am and after that there was the clean up with loads of smashing bottles etc. There are however ensuites in the dorm rooms and they supply towels which is a bonus. If you are travelling alone and want to meet people I recommend hatters on hilton chambers, more social, and it was cheaper

great hostel, good location! would stay here again definately. stockholm as a city is pretty expensive so i guess the price isn't too bad when u compare it to other costs! They have macbook computers around and a good living area. I am travelling alone and always had people to chat/hang out with
