Your Best of Mendoza wine tour will start early in the morning from your hotel, heading south towards the department of Luján de Cuyo, well-known as the cradle of Malbec. During the drive you will observe centenarian vineyards and pass by internationally recognized wineries, always accompanied by the unique panorama of the imposing Andes Mountains.
With the view of the America´s highest peaks, we will travel the famous wine road (Camino del Vino). This road will lead us to visit three highly recognized bodegas:Vistalba, Piatelli Vineyards, and Septima where we will enjoy a gourmet lunch.
The first winery we will visit is Vistalba, built in 2002 on the property of a historic family farm in Vistalba, Lujan de Cuyo. It was on this land that Carlos Pulenta wanted to develop a personal project of wine blends under the frame of the amazing landscape of the Andes Mountians. The winery has two exclusive lodges surrounded by vineyards and a very special tasting room where you can taste their wines and see the soil of the terroir. Today the winery produces white, red, sparkling wines, and olive oil. www.carlospulentawines.com
A few minutes away, we will reach Piattelli Vineyards, built in a Tuscan style in honor of its founders. Like thousands of his compatriots, Piattelli brothers arrived from Italy looking for the "promised land" after they left Tuscany, Italy. Year after year, Piattelli Vineyards is known as one of the most well recognized wineries in Argentina, combining traditional methods with the latest technology. At Piattelli you will tast a Cabernet Sauvignon, Blend, and Torrentes. www.piatellivineyards.com
By this time in your tour you will be hungry. Just in time for your Gourmet Lunch at Septima Winery! In addition to offering visitors top notch wines, and a gourmet lunch, Septima Winery boasts a very unique architectural style. The architecture and construction style of the winery uses an arrangement of spaces inspired by the ancestral dry-stone wall system, a technique to build walls widely used by the native huarpes that consists in stacking up natural stones. After an informative tour of the winery you will enjoy a gourmet lunch at Maria Restaurant. The Restaurant is located on the terrace, offering a stunning view of the vineyards framed by the Andes. www.bodegaseptima.com
By the end of your tour you will be taking notes on where you can buy these Wines at home!
