Tour Itinerary

ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive at Siem Reap airport where you will be greeted by your tour guide & driver.

You will then be transferred to the Siemreaprooms Guesthouse or a similar guesthouse of the same standard.

After relaxing for a while in your guesthouse you will then visit the floating village of Chong Khneas on the Tonle Sap lake. During the visit to Chong Khneas you will see what life is like on a floating village and how the locals spend their working days. After visiting the floating village you will be taken back to your guesthouse.

Depending on your arrival time, you maybe able to also visit the Silk farm, Central market or Old market.

Day 2

Breakfast will be served at your guesthouse, after breakfast your day will start with a guided tour of the Angkor temples. First of all, you will visit the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat, which was built in the early to mid 12th century. Suryavarman II constructed Angkor Wat into a huge temple like mountain with 5 huge towers, which can be seen from afar and was dedicated to the Hindu God and Vishnu.

After visiting Angkor Wat you will be taken to the Angkor Thom city complex which was built in the late 12th to early 13th century during Jayavarman VII reign and it is a Buddhism temple. Angkor Thom is a 3 km square walled and moated royal city and was the last capital of the Angkorian empire.

You will then continue on to the beautiful temple of Ta Prohm which was built in the mid 12th and early 13th century. Ta Prohm is a large complex with passages and open plazas and it is also the temple where many people want to get the photo with the trees growing out of the walls.

After visiting the temples you have the rest of the day to yourself to relax at your guesthouse.

Day 3

Breakfast will be served at your guesthouse and then your day will start with a continuation of the Angkor temples. First of all, you will visit the temple of Prasat Kravan then you will continue on to visit the temple of Sras Srang before going onto the temples of Banteay Kdei, Ta Keo, Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, and the Pre Rup temple for sunset. Pre Rup was built in the late 10th century. Pre Rup is a temple with some nicely carved doors and from the top of the temple there is a great view of the surrounding area.

After sunset, you will be taken back to your guesthouse.

Day 4

Breakfast will be served at your guesthouse and then your day will start with a visit to some of the distant temples, including the beautiful temple of Banteay Srey which was built in the late 10th century and was dedicated to the Hindu God. Banteay Srey basically means "citadel of the women" and Banteay Srey has some of the best carvings of all the temples.

You will then continue on to Kbal Spean which was built between the 11th and 13th centuries. Kbal Spean is around 55km from Siem Reap and most people go there to see the 1,000 lingas, which are carved into the river bed. If time permits you can also visit the temple of Banteay Samre which is another beautiful temple.

If you would like to visit the Land Mine Museum then you can do so on the way to Banteay Srey.

After your tour of the temples, you will be taken back to your guesthouse.

Day 5

On the final day, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.

Transport to the temples by Tuk Tuk or A/C bus depending on group size.

Airport/guesthouse transfers.
