Tour Itinerary

ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive at Siem Reap airport where you will be greeted by your driver. You will then be transferred to the Siemreaprooms guesthouse or a similar guesthouse of the same standard.

On the day of your arrival you will have the rest of the day to yourself. However, if you arrive early in the day then we can make extra arrangements such as horse riding, quad biking, a visit to local markets, a visit to the silk farm, Cambodia Cultural village visit, War museum and National museum etc.

Day 2

After breakfast in your guesthouse you will meet your Angkor tour guide. You will start the day with a guided tour of the Angkor temples. First of all, you will visit the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat which was built in the early to mid 12th century. Suryavarman II constructed Angkor Wat into a huge temple like mountain with 5 huge towers, which can be seen from afar and was dedicated to the Hindu God and Vishnu.

After visiting Angkor Wat you will continue on to the Angkor Thom complex which was built in the late 12th to early 13th century during Jayavarman VII reign and it is a Buddhism temple. Angkor Thom is a 3 km square walled and moated royal city and was the last capital of the Angkorian empire. You will also visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of Elephants, Terrace of Leper Kings, Ta Prohm, Ta Keo and to Bakheng Mountain for sunset.

After seeing the sunset at Bakheng Mountain, you will be taken back to the guesthouse.

Day 3

After breakfast in your guesthouse you will then take a trip to the beautiful temple of Beng Mealea with its Jungle like atmosphere. The Beng Mealea temple has to be one of the most beautiful temples of Angkor, and due to its location, 80km from Siem Reap it is not overcrowded with people.

After visiting Beng Mealea you will then visit the floating village of Chong Khneas on the Tonle Sap lake. During the visit to Chong Khneas you will see what life is like on a floating village, and how the locals spend their working days. After visiting the floating village you will be taken back to your guesthouse.

Day 4

After breakfast in your guesthouse you will then check out. You will then travel by A/C mini bus to Phnom Penh. A little way out of Siem Reap you will visit the oldest bridge still standing in Cambodia which is over 1,000 years old.

Once you arrive in Phnom Penh you will then check in to your hotel. After a short rest you will then visit the Toul Sleng museum or S-21 as it is commonly known. S-21 is an old school which was turned into a detention centre for the prisoners of the Khmer Rouge regime. The prisoners who were mostly educated Cambodians were held in captivity and then tortured by various means. After spending time in S-21 they were then told they were been taken to work in the countryside, but in reality they were been taken to Choueng Ek which is the most famous killing field of Cambodia.

After visiting S-21 you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 5

After breakfast in the hotel you will then take a guided tour of the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda. Here you will see some of the beautiful architecture inside the Royal Palace.

After visiting the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda you will then take a guided tour of the National Museum. The National museum has some fine exhibits and sculptures of the past centuries.

In the afternoon you will visit Phnom Penh's Russian market. The Russian market is one of the biggest markets in Cambodia selling all sorts of stuff including clothes, dvds, souvenirs, pots, pans, electrical items, watches, bags and shoes plus lots more. This is a great place to buy your souvenirs and gadgets to take back home.

After visiting the Russian market you will be taken back to the hotel for the evening.

Day 6

After breakfast in your hotel you will then check out.

You will then travel back to Siem Reap in an A/C mini bus.

Once you arrive in Siem Reap you will check into the Siemreaprooms guesthouse or a similar standard of accommodation.

Day 7

On the final day, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
