The One Day Tour
This Tour is the 10 km hiking which you can walk from one section of the Wall to another, that is, to Walk from Jingshanling to Simatai.
Jinshanling Great Wall about 150 kilometers away from Beijing lies in the mountainous area in Luanping county of Hebei province. The wall looks a bit old and ruinous but much more natural, 7.8 meters high, 5-6 meters thick at bottom.
There, 32 watchtowers were built on the wall in some strategic places with their diversified shapes. The ground floor was used for living, storing food and weapons and the top floor was used for defense.
Connected with Jinshanling, Simatai Great Wall holds the access to Gubeikou, a strategic pass in the eastern part of the Great Wall. This section of the Wall is 5.4km long with 35 beacon towers known for its steepness, ingenuity and uniqueness. Siamtai stands out as the most fascinating example of the architecture along the entire Great Wall.
The itinerary of this tour is quite simple:
we will name the departure time accoding to which hostel you are staying.
Jinshanling
It is about three hours to drive to Jinshanling where there are restaurant that guests can have an lunch (NOT included in tour price).
The entrance fees there are included in this trip.
Moreover, it has cable car and sliding car at the Wall with the additional charges. It costs 50.00RMB/person by cable car for round-way and 30.00 RMB/person for one way. On the other hand, the sliding car at the foot of Simatai costs 35.00 RMB/person only one way. These prices are also paid by guests themselves who need these.
In addition, the guests who go to Jinshangling and Simatai will take the same mini-bus (with air-conditioning). The guests who go to Jishanling will change another mini-bus which we arrange for them without any extra charge. Depends on the arrival time, the travellers will be given the time for coming back after they 4-hour walking on the Wall.( usually about 16:30) Tourists can arrange for these four hours on the Wall by taking photos or anything else they like to do. Yet they have to get Simatai on time and take our mini-bus back to the city.
