Acropolis

� Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike, Propylea, Erechteion � dominating the city, the Acropolis can be seen from most areas in Athens.

Temple of Olympian Zeus

, and Hadrian�s Gate � the Arch was erected to mark the limits of the �new� city of Athens, and this imposing Temple is one of the largest in Greece.

Ancient Agora

� Stoa of Attalus has been reconstructed and is a museum for the agora excavations which are still ongoing.

Parliament Building

(previously Royal Palace), Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and changing of the guards (Evzones)

Olympic Stadium

(Panathenaic Stadium 1896) � the only major stadium built fully of white marble and was also used in the 2004 Olympics.

Roman Agora

� construction for the Roman market place was begun by Julius Caesar, contains the �Tower of the Winds� weather vane/water clock sculptured with personifications of the eight winds.

Omonia Square

� the square that never sleeps. One of the oldest squares in modern Athens where activity just never stops.

Central Market (Agora)

� the current main fish/meat, fruit/olive market bustling daily with activity.

Plaka

- Wander through stone and narrow streets of Old Plaka at the base of the Acropolis full of tavernas and tourist shops

Royal Gardens

(now the National Park) adjoining the Parliament building and now contains a small zoo, avery and caf�.

Zappeion Congress Hall

� imposing exhibition hall originally built 1874-88 and surrounding grounds contain memorials of many famous Greek heroes from the War of Independence.

Virtually all the main sites in Athens are covered in less than a day.

Tours depart 7 days a week and last approximately 4-5 hours. (Tours will not run on days Acropolis and all sites are closed for obvious reasons!)

Athens Easy Hostel is the last pick-up point and you should be there at 09.30 ready for the tour departure (09.45-10:00). If you don�t have time to book online, then just come on over as everyone is welcome and reservations in advance not required.

Lunch and entrance fees are not included in the price; however make sure you bring your INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CARD or proof you study in Europe, as they offer discounts or free entrance to the sites.

Our guide will not join you inside the sites, but will provide full information before you enter, and written data to keep as a souvenir.
