• Tour Description:
At Reykjanes cliff seashore we experience the contrasts of the ragged, ice-cold crest of the menacing ocean waves of the Atlantic, and boiling hot springs, fumaroles and mud pools. Gunnuhver hot spring is one of the largest mud pools in Iceland; it is also the resting place of a hostile ghost named Gunna, which might explain the disturbing smell!
On we go, by foot, through rough landscape to very peculiar charred, smoking fire craters surrounded by a rough lava field. We let the imagination drift while we wander around in the wild, untamed nature, - although we are only 30 km from the city and the nearest village is only 5 km away. The tour ends at The Blue Lagoon where you can choose to stay or get a transfer back to Reykjavík.
Please bring: Good shoes and outdoor clothes.
Entrance fee to the bathing area is not included in the tour price.
