This magnificent tour includes the most interesting aspects of the Burren to enable you to get the best possible view and knowledge of the changes which have occurred over the centuries. O'Neachtain professional tour guides will give you many stops to explore and photograph each area. Also giving you plenty of time at Ireland's most spectacular sea-cliffs, the famous Cliffs of Moher, which are 200m high and are extended for 8km long.
We depart Salthill at 9.50a.m. and Galway at 10.00a.m. through the village of Oranmore where the view of Galway Bay unfolds, next is on to Clarenbridge, home of the famous September Oyster Festival. The tour turns right at Kilcolgan on to the pretty fishing village of Kinvara. Our first stop will be at Dunguaire Castle, a 16th Century tower house which holds mediaeval banquets during the summer months. Next we view 12th Century Cistercian Abbey of Corcomroe and then on to Ballyvaughn.
Poulnabrone dolmen
This is a remarkable bare limestone area with its combination of many unusual factors, its geology, its flora, caves and archaeology. This is the area where the first stone age dwellers settled. Our next stop is the famous Poulnabrone dolmen, a 5000 year old tomb used by the stone dwellers to bury their dead. Next we view Leamanagh Castle, Kilfenora, Lisdonvarna where the matchmaking festival is held in the month of September and then on to the world famous Cliffs of Moher for our next long break.
Lunch is at Fitzpatrick pub in Doolin during the low season only. Now it's time for the Atlantic drive towards Black Head lighthouse, with breathtaking views of Fanore beach, the blue Atlantic, the Connemara coast and the three Aran Islands of Inis Mor, Inis Meain, Inis Oirr and arriving back at Galway tourist office at 5.15p.m. You will find our guide friendly and always willing to share a joke with you. there is lying advertising again here, on the internet, and on the flyer too. the access to the cliffs of moher is not included in the price! in the flyer, it is said that we have the choice to do a walk in the burren or to visit the ailwee cave, and it is NOT the case, moreover we were charged 8 euros for the cave, which is really expensive, this visit clearly doesn't worth 8 euros!! we were very disapointed. we won't NOT recommend your tour to our friends or family.

My friends and I loved the tour. The commentary was really good and the caves tour was really interesting.. We did feel there wasn't long enough to have lunch, as the other coaches pulled up at the same time and it was busy.

Loved the tour, it was fantastic and the tour guide was full of information. However I wouldn't recommend booking a tour through Hostelworld. I think it's great they give to Unicef but the tour details were confusing - the tour description said it was one company, then the confirmation email from Hostelworld said another tour company. Luckily on the day Galway Tour Company were great and worked it out for me.
