Gastronomy tour to Friuli and Collio by Venice Events

Tour Itinerary

Our small group tour aims to show you an area, relatively unknown by tourists, but loved by the Italians for its top wines. Crossing the countryside from Venice we reach the vineyards of firstly the Veneto, and then onto the Friuli region where we head for the hills of Corno di Rosazzo and the medieval town of Cividale to visit a top wine-maker/oenologist and his vineyard.

Wine-tasting includes great white wines and full-bodied reds such as Cabernet, merlot, Refrosco and Tocai Friulano.

Lunch takes place in a tiny Trattoria near the Slovenian border with home-made specialities, Schioppettine wine and of course grappa! After lunch we make our sleepy way to the town of Cividale, which was founded in 50 BC by Julius Caesar, where we will cross the Devil's bridge with its beautiful views and enjoy a stroll around the historical centre before making our way back to Venice!
