Tour Itinerary

If you do not have enough time for Round Annapurna Trek and are not fit enough for the challenging Thorung-la and yet you desire to have a wonderful and easy short trip, this trek is the best alternative. Perhaps for this reason, this trek is popular for the aged and for those with children. Most part of the trek runs along the Kali Gandaki, the deepest gorge in the world. Some people walk up to Muktinath and fly out from Jomsom and others do fly in at Jomsom, walk up a day to Muktinath and gradually trek down to Pokhara. A number of flights take place from Pokhara to Jomsom unless the weather at Jomsom airstrip turns hostile.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara
On the first day of your trek you will drive to Pokhara which is 200 Kms. away from kathmandu and experiece the wonderful sites on the way.

Day 03: Pokhara to Kagbeni (2858m)
The very next day you will fly to Jomsom for about half an hour and rest for a while. Jomsom is a headquarter of Mustang district and most of the government offices are located in Jomsom. Then by the time you start to walk along the Kaligandaki river you will feel the strong wind. After walking about 2 hours you will get to a small but beautiful village which is situated along the bank of the Kaligandaki river and you can have an enermous view of Neelgiri. Then you walk about an hour to get to Kagbeni where you can see the old styled or ancient houses and one famous monastery and spend a night there.

Day 04: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3817m)
On the third day you will start to walk up to get to Muktinath which is very famous and a holy shrine of Hindus and Buddhist. In Muktinath you will find a natural small flame burning which never sets off. This is believed to be burned by God. Muktinath is a small village surrounded by green hill all around which may facinate you by it's beauty. While you get to Muktinath you will feel like a heaven and will think for a moment that Nepal is worthful to visit once in a life. After that you will walk up about 4 hours and finally reach to Muktinath.

Day 05:Muktinath to Jomsom (2709m)
The trail from Muktinath to Jomsom is straight down and you will find it quit easy to walk. On the way down to Jomsom you will get to see a village called jarkot where you can visit one more monastery. You will find many lodges on the way and one can have a food of their choice. While you get walking you can admire yourself by the rich Tibetan culture. After walking about one and a half hour you will reach to Yaklewati which is a small village where you can have a lunch. On the way to Yaklewati you can even see the Thorung-La pass,Thorung peak and some caves of Upper Mustang.

Day 06: Jomsom to Larjung (2522m)
From Jomsom the route gently descends to Marpha which is very famous for apple all over the world. Marpha is a small beautiful village full of typical Thakalis and Tibetans. After that you start to walk along the Kaligandaki river and can see the Tibetan refugee camp on your left side. Then you walk about two hours to get to Tukuche which is on the lap of Dhaulagiri. Tukuche is also known as the friend village of Japan and the main distillery of apple is sitauated here. After that you walk about one hour and reach to Larjung and spend a overnight there.

Day 07: Larjung to Ghasa (1970m)
is day you will cross the Kaligandaki river on a bridge and start to walk along the small village with pine forest. After walking about 2 hours you will get to Kalopani. Kalopani is a small elegant village where you can stop by to have a lunch. Then you walk down to Lete and cross a river and continue walking to dense forest to Ghasa which is 2 hours walk from Kalopani. Ghasa is famous for the deepest gorge of the Earth.

Day 08: Ghasa to Tatopani (1189m)
While you start to Walk to get to Tatopani you can have an enormous views of Annapurna South and Neelgiri and many waterfalls. After walking about 4 hours you will reach to Tatopani. Tatopani is named as a holy spring where you can get a natural hot water all the time. It is beleived that people can cure there disese naturally by getting bath in this water.

Day 09: Tatopani to Ghorepani (2793m)
The trail climbs up while you start to walk to get to Ghorepani. It takes about 6 to 8 hours to get to Ghorepani. On the way to Ghorepani you can see the whole Annapurna range, the narrow gorge of Kali gandaki and typical Magar houses. You can get numerous cultural knowledge and lifestyles of the Magar people on the way to Ghorepani.

Day 10:Ghorepani to Pokhara
After having the magnificient view of Ghorepani the trail descends through the dense forest of magnolia and rhododendron to Banthanti. Then the trail continues down to Ulleri where you have to follow the stone staircase. On the way to Birethanti you can see the wonderful view of lowlands dale and Annapurna south including the rice terraces. Then you walk about 3 hours down to get to Birethanti.is a small village situated on the bank of the river which is famous for the starting point of the rafting. After half an hour you will get to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara which is the ending point of your trek.

Day 11 Drive back to Kathmandu
On the last day of your trek you will be driving back by a tourist bus or a car to Kathmandu following to your next destination.
