Culture Trekking/ Tour In Lower Dolpo Area, Nepal

There are some famous gompas (Monasteries) in these areas. The most famous, Shey Gompa was reestablished in 11th century. Thashung Gompa located near Phoksundo Lake was built about 900 years ago to conserve wildlife. Shey Phoksundo National Park is home to more than 9000 people, and their villages are among the highest settlements on earth. Most of the inhabitants of the park practice Bon Buddhism, an ancient religion with roots in Animism and Buddhism. The Bonpo religion, which forms the entire cultural base for Tibetan Buddhism, was founded 18000 years ago, during the Zhang Zung Empire of today's western Tibet.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nepal (Kathmandu Airport)

Pick up from airport, rest in hotel. Evening visit to Monkey Temple lies on the hilltop only a kilometer far from Thamel for Kathmandu evening Valley view.

Day 2: Whole day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.

After breakfast you have sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley. The Valley is cradle of Nepali culture and civilization is the largest valley in the Midlands and certainly the most beautiful. There are seven UNESCO recognized World Heritage Sites within 20 km. Those are: Swayambhu Nath Stupa, Boudha Nath, Bhaktapur City, Changu Narayan Temple, Pashupati Nath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square. Today we arrange you to visit all above Cultural Center. Over night in hotel.

Day 3: Kathmandu - Nepalgung (By Bus)

Day 4: Fly Nepalgung - Juphal

Day 5: Juphal - Hanke

Day 6: Hanke - Sundava

Day 7: Sundava - Phoksundo Lake

Day 8: Phoksundo Lake rest & exploration there

Day 9: Phoksundo Lake - Yak Kharka

Day 10: Yak Kharka - Kagmara Base Camp

Day 11: Kagmara BC - Kagmara Phedi

Day 12: Kagmara Phedi - Kaigaun

Day 13: Kaigaun - Chaurikot

Day 14: Chaurikot - Murigaun

Day 15: Murigaun - Jumla

Day 16: Rest in Jumla to manage flight. Explore local village

Day 17: Fly Jumla - Nepalgunj

Day 18: Fly Nepalgunj - Kathmandu

Day 19: Rest and souvenir shopping

Today you will spend your last day of this trip in Nepal with shopping Nepali products as souvenir for your family and friends. If necessary guide is happy to help you for shopping.

Day 20: Drive back to KTM Int'l Airport for onward flight.

In the morning, after breakfast our airport representative will go Kathmandu Airport to drop you there. Your trip in Nepal (Culture Tour in Lower Dolpo Area) is completed!
