Day 1
Your tour starts in Amsterdam, at your hostel. Through the day you make it up to your first overnight at Egmond aan Zee. Along the route you stop in classic Volendam and Alkmaar. Or cruise straight to your hostel, which is located just minutes from the beach!
Day 2
From Egmond you make it up to Sneek, Frysia. Along the route you cross the Enclosure dike, one of the country's most spectacular barriers against flooding. Stop on the dike and find out how it's build. Arriving now in Frysia you will be amazed about the through country sides. Small villages, authentic buildings and a lot of water, with many water sports possibilities!
Day 3 and 4
You drive to Apeldoorn, in the centre of the country. Apeldoorn is in the middle of national park the Veluwe. Lots of forests around you, with great walks, bike rides and if you're lucky wild life. There's so much to do that you spend 2 nights here. Survive the thrills in Walibi amusement park, visit the underwater world at the Dolfinarium, cruise through the country's newest province Flevoland, or take it easy in the forests!
Day 5
This day you make it up to Maastricht, a historic city in the absolute south, close to Germany and Belgium. The hilly environment, the French style buildings, and the romantic river the Maas makes it feel not quite Dutch. But the local food and delicacies compensates this feeling. Spend your time in town, or go out and take some adventure in the underground caves!
Day 6
From Maastricht you head to Valkenswaard, a small village to the Belgium border. This popular environment is covered in woods, and beautiful for hiking and biking. It is close to the city Eindhoven, which you might consider to visit for it's modern art and buildings. This is the techniques capital for the enthusiasts, with the Philips light bulb factory, and the Daf truck factory.
Day 7
This day it's time to make decisions. One thing is sure, you spend your night in a good hostel in Bergen op Zoom. But along the way there's a lot to do. Are you a city hopper, than you can choose from the historic cities Den Bosch, Tilburg or Breda. Are you a thrill seeker, or believe in fairytales, than visit amusement park de Efteling! Roller coasters, water glides and more spectacular rides are combined with life like fairy tales, shows and theatre.
Day 8
It's time to head back to Amsterdam.... On the way you cross the South Holland province. Take your time along the route, and maybe visit the historic wind mill park Kinderdijk. This true historic village is over 600 years old, and when the weather is fine the mills are actually working! Now go back to Amsterdam!
