Tour Itinerary
Spend a memorable day with Allen's Tours visiting what is undoubtedly Northern Ireland's most infamous attraction - the unforgettable and unmistakable Giant's Causeway.
Travel with us aboard one of our coaches on a journey you will remember for a life time taking in the spectacular natural beauty that is the Antrim Coastal Road.
Shortly after embarking our first photo stop of the day will be at Carrickfergus Castle. This 12th century norman castle is one of the best preserved medieval castles in Ireland. Besieged by the Scots, Irish and the French the castle is steeped in history and is where King William III first set foot in Ireland in 1690.
Afterwards en route you will be able to marvel at the breath taking views of the Glens of Antrim whilst also having time to sample the scenic delights and idyllic charm of the quaint little towns and villages we will be passing through including:
* Glenarm, famous for its abundant salmon fishing and haunted castle
* Carnlough with its picturesque harbour and distinctive rural character
* Cushendall and its 19th century red curfew house
* Cushendun's pretty Cornish cottages and beautiful beach
* Ballycastle the home to the one and only 400 year old 'Oul Lammas Fair'
* Carrick-a-Reede with its death defying rope bridge (cross at your own risk, Northern Ireland weather permitting, now open all year round) and stunning views of Rathlin Island
* Bushmills Distillery where you will be able to indulge in a wee tipple of the good stuff in their famous tasting room.
* We will then visit the main attraction of the day and the mythical wonder that is the Giants Causeway which is a world heritage site and one of life's must see geological phenomenon. Follow in the footsteps of the giants of Irish folklore - Finn MacCool and Benandonner and stand on these unexplainable hexagonal shaped stones (which are estimated to be a staggering 62 - 65 million years old) whilst also enjoying the awe inspiring and majestic views all around you in this magnificent outdoor museum!
* Our final stop of the day on the drive back to Belfast will be to take a quick photo stop at impressive ruins of the historical Dunluce Castle, a site which is believed to have been inhabited since the 13th century.
To miss this fully guided informative tour and all around fun day out with our friendly, knowledgeable and experienced drivers and guides would really be a lost opportunity, so reserve your seat today!
The tour starts at approx 10am from our tour office at 25a Donegal Rd (conveniently located opposite the Belfast International Youth Hostel) and is it is highly recommended for passengers to arrive at least 30 mins prior to tour departure to avoid disappointment.

Excellent guide. very professional but to much information. would have been nice to sometimes just listen to music and enjoying views instead of hearing talking talking talking. But still he told us many many interesting things! and he was also funny.

We had a great time, the weather really helped! The tour is good, the guide was ok. We didn't like the fact that we had to rush at the last stops of the tour because we spend too much time at the bridge. There are a lot of tours doing the same thing so there is a lot of people and you have to wait in line for attractions. So if you spend too much time at a place you have very little time at the other places. But we guess that happens in every tour. Overall we enjoyed the tour a lot! Thanks!

It was just alright. Nothing special. The day was very rushed, with barely enough time at each stop to enjoy it. We did have plenty of time at Giants Causeway though (2 hours), and since that was the main focus of the trip, it worked out alright.

Walter, our driver / tour-guide, was great. He took use round in a taxi, and was good company throughout. It was a lovely day out, though it would have been nice to have a little more time at the Causeway in particular - by the time we had eaten and walked to the stones, we only had about five minutes before we had to turn back. But it was incredible value for money and a fantastic day out, and big thanks again to Walter.

This tour was nice enough to pick us up at our hostel and gave a great taste of everything. I would have liked more time at all the stops, but as it was a day trip you could only be so long at one place. Overall it was a great trip and I highly recommend it if you are in Northern Ireland.

Scottish guide is absolutely mental! Go for this tour, it's a day well spent, can't recommend enough. Nature and surroundings are stunning, commentary during the tour is pure fun, can't beat value for money on this one.

It was a marvellous experience, the bus guide/driver really knew what he was talking about, was very kind and informative, such a complete tour for such a reasonable price, too bad we didn’t have time for doing all the activities the tour offers, but it really is a unique and fun experience, would recommend!

Absolutely worth it. Tour was amazing, Ian was such a good four guide! Can't recommend more! This was so worth the price and the coach was so comfy, there are plenty of opportunities to stop for snacks over the trip and the lunch at the causeway is a nice break :) make sure you get the shuttle to and from the stones from the site! Also they talk so much during the tour, soo informative :D

I really enjoyed this tour! The coast is beautiful. I would have liked more time so spend at Bushmill's, but I'm not sure how that could be worked out since it gets dark so early (at least during the winter). I would recommend reminding guests in the confirmation email to wear sturdy shoes - I'm not sure that I was wearing the best shoes to climb on slippery rocks at the causeway. But I made it work!

website price 16 euro. I paid 15% deposit online. after we arrive, we have been charged for 14 GBP. that's way more than 16 euros. not very fair. beside that, the wisky factory is closed. no idea why they still bring us there. Driver is very nice.

It's an amazing tour, so I would definitely recommend you to take it. In comparison to other tours is has a good price (16 pounds) and our guide Tom was an incredible story teller. He talked from 10am until 5pm continuously (resting during the times when we were visiting the surroundings). We've seen many great places with excellent views (castles, lands, forests), heard fun and cool legends and had a great time. If you're heading to Belfast, keep one day for this tour.

I really enjoyed this tour. Allen's picked me up from my hostel, the bus driver / guide was very informative, friendly and interesting. A good amount of time at the stops to see the Rope Bridge and the Giants Causeway with a few other stops along the way for pictures or coffee or a castle here and there. good value for money. amazing scenery, a lovely drive up the coast.

we really enjoyed this tour with Allen's Tours! It takes you to all the great places before the competition and you get free time to visit and walk around by yourself. Also we were very lucky with our driver, Tom. He was really nice and very funny! He explained everything on the way and took us to small roads to see things one would not see because they do not come on the guide. I loved it, id do it again!
