Tour Itinerary
5 days / 4 nights
Cusco to Machu Picchu Biking & Hiking
Day 1
Cusco - Ollantaytambo
Transfer to Chinchero. Bike ride along the Sacred Valley of the Inkas, passing by Huaypo Lagoon, Moray terraces, Maras salt mines, Urubamba village and finally Ollantaytambo. Overnight in a local lodge.
Day 2
Ollantaytambo - Abra Málaga - Santa María
Transfer to the summit at Abra Málaga (4,350 ma.a.s.l.). Downhill ride along the Convención valley toward jungle territory. Rest stop for lunch at Carrizales. Visit Wamanmarka archaeological site. Arrive Santa María (1,130 m.a.s.l.) about 5pm. Overnight in a local lodge.
Day 3
Santa María - Santa Teresa
Hiking along inka trail, about 8 hours. Rest stop at the thermal hot springs in Santa Teresa. Overnight in a local lodge.
Day 4
Santa Teresa - Hidroeléctrica power plant - Aguas Calientes.
Hiking 5 hours, visit Intiwatana archaeological site. Overnight in a local lodge at Aguas Calientes.
Day 5
Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco
Hiking 1 hour to Machu Picchu. 2 hours Guided tour, rest of time at Machu PIcchu open. Train trip to return to Cusco.

Great staff and experience. Food and accommodation were poor especially for the price we paid for the tour. Price of the tour should be the same across the board, as we paid significantly more than others.We also had to share rooms with other people on tour.
