Tour Itinerary


Day 1

Early morning pick up and local transfer in Lima. Bus trip Lima to Casma (6 hours approx). Upon arrival and after lunch bike trip to the Chankillo site for the first sunset watching. Overnight in a local hotel.


Day 2

Early morning bike trip to Chankillo before dawn to watch the sunrise. During the morning we make an extensive visit to the place verifying the alignements and sights proposed by the archaeologists versus our own discoveries.
Return to Casma for lunch. Before sunset back to watch the last sunset at the ancient observatory.
Evening bus to Lima

Relevant dates for solar observations:
June 21st: winter solstice
September 22nd: equinox
December 21st: summer solstice
March 21st: equinox

On other dates the tour is also available but these are the most important due to their astronomical significance.
