Tour Itinerary

Departing Edinburgh and heading north via Stirling, we enjoy views of magnificent Stirling Castle before a stop at the Wallace Monument, the impressive tower built to honour Scotland's famous hero. Then we head for the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond and spend time taking in panoramic views of the loch surrounded by mountains. You have the choice of a boat cruise on the loch, walk along the banks, or simply relax and spend time exploring the Loch Lomond Shores complex.

We spend time exploring The Trossachs National Park famous for some of Scotland's most iconic Highland scenery. After stopping to pick up some lunch in the quaint Highland village of Aberfoyle, we head to Doune and stop for an optional tour of its medieval Castle. This is a stunning building, packed with history and guaranteed to impress. We then make our way back to Edinburgh, arriving in the early evening.

OPTIONAL TOUR OF DOUNE CASTLE

Built for the Regent Albany, Doune Castle is a magnificent late 14th Century courtyard castle. Its most striking feature is the 100ft high gatehouse which includes the splendid Lord's Hall with its musicians' gallery, double fireplace and carved oak screen. The tour includes an excellent audio guide narrated by Terry Jones, who starred in the movie 'Monty Python and The Holy Grail', and features some insights into the making of the film as well as the history of the castle itself.

Tickets cost £4.50 for adults and £2.70 for children, including a free audio guide in multiple languages.

OPTIONAL LOCH LOMOND CRUISE

A cruise on the loch is by far the best way to explore the area and discover what makes it so magical. With panoramic views shadowed by towering peaks of the southern Highlands, this is a great way to see the loch whatever the weather. The boats have an indoor area (and a bar) for when the weather is more 'traditional'. You can purchase your cruise ticket at the time of booking or from your Guide on the day which will allow you to board immediately on arrival without having to queue.

Tickets cost £7.50 for adults and £4.50 for children (under 12). Cruise duration is 1 hour.
