Tour Itinerary

Day 1 (27th December):

When you arrive in Edinburgh, you will be able to check into your Edinburgh City Centre hostel any time after 2pm. Once you're settled in you've got the rest of the day free to go and explore all that Edinburgh has to offer on the build up to the Hogmanay celebrations. There will also be a wee welcome evening that you can come along to at 6pm and meet us and your fellow travellers.

Day 2:

Jump aboard the MacBackpackers bus and explore one of Scotland's most spectacular islands! Let our guides look after you during the day and enjoy plenty of free time in the evening to explore your new surroundings!

You'll depart Edinburgh at 8am and head into the Highlands! Today we explore ruins, discover incredible castles, hear of clan rivalry and try to catch a glimpse of Scotland's most famous monster!

Hostel: Skye Backpackers, Kyleakin, Isle of Skye

Day3:

Time to explore the Isle of Skye! During our island adventure we'll see beautiful waterfalls, take a mild (ish) hike up one of the islands spectacular rock formations and pay a visit the magical Faerie Glen before heading back to our cosy hostel.

Hostel: Skye Backpackers, Kyleakin, Isle of Skye

Day4:

We say goodbye to the misty isle and head south taking in views of the Nevis range and Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. We'll discover the haunting beauty of Glen Coe and hear tales of clan massacres before continuing our journey through 'braveheart country' towards the National Wallace Monument. We should be back in Edinburgh for approx 5pm.

Day 5:

It's time for the main event! Today is your free time to spend how you please, although we'd suggest you head into the City Centre and take in the atmosphere to the build up of the Hogmanay celebrations. As evening decends, it's time to make your way down to the street party where you can use your pass to join the rest of the 100,000 or so revellers. There'll be live music, entertainment and a sensational atmosphere....a New Year you'll never forget!

Day 6:

A day to relax (recover!) and enjoy New Years day with your new found friends. A day to spend however you choose.

Day 7:

It's time to check out your hostel, but panic not, if you've enjoyed yourself so much and not ready to leave us yet, just ask at reception and they'll try their best to accommodate you for longer.
