I liked the tour, the staff was very professional and kind. But I found the Loch Lomond a bit far away from Edinburgh, so there were some periods in which there were nothing to see and to do.

Tour Itinerary

Steeped in history and culture, and with wonderful scenery, this one of our most exciting tours. We pass the impressive ramparts Stirling Castle en route for the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland's first National Park. We take in panoramic views from Loch Lomond, arguably Scotland’s most beautiful loch with plenty of opportunities for photographs before travelling west over the dramatic Rest and be Thankful mountain pass.

This is a wild landscape infused with history and Romance. Lunch is in Inveraray, home to the Campbell Clan and the Duke of Argyll. This pretty town, built in the 18th Century, sits on the shores of Loch Fyne - a large sea loch famous for its kippers and fresh shellfish.

In the afternoon, we explore magnificent ruins of Kilchurn Castle situated on Scotland's longest loch, Loch Awe. Stopping in the picturesque village of Killin, we view the spectacular Falls of Dochart, fed by the high mountains above. We pass the small village of Doune, once the pistol-making centre of Europe, with its stunning 14th Century castle (set of Monty Python's "Holy Grail") returning to Edinburgh in the early evening.
