Tour Itinerary
From Glasgow we travel to the Scottish Wool Centre at Aberfoyle for our first stop of the day. After coffee our route takes us through the Trossachs with its forest covered mountains and Highland Lochs.
The Trossachs were an inspiration to Sir Walter Scott who wrote the novel "Lady of the Lake" after spending time around Loch Katrine in the heart of the Trossachs.
Our tour continues by the Pass of Lenny, Loch Lubnaig and up through Glen Ogle to Killin where we will stop at the dramatic Falls of Dochart and view the rapids that carry the river under the old stone bridge.
We follow Loch Earn through St Fillans to Crieff where you can enjoy The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret reputedly Scotland's oldest working distillery. Set in the heart of scenic Perthshire, see first hand how Glenturret single malt is made before learning how they marry their whiskies to make Scotland's favourite whisky- The Famous Grouse. Take to the skies in the brand new interactive show and help The Famous Grouse play his iconic theme tune. Includes 2 whisky tastings.
After lunch we make our way to Doune Castle which was the film location for "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". Built for the Regent Albany, Doune Castle is a magnificent late 14th century courtyard castle. Its most striking feature is the 100ft high gatehouse which includes the splendid Lord's Hall with its musicians' gallery, double fireplace and carved oak screen.
Discover the new nature trail in the castle grounds or take an audio tour of the castle narrated by Monty Python's Terry Jones before your return to Glasgow.
