Tour Itinerary
Day 1
- Shuttle from the airport, rail station or arrive by Baz Bus at your backpackers. Dump your stuff and put on your dirty clothes to go quad biking for a couple of hours to clear the cobwebs and feel the rush. Overnight in Durban.
Day 2
- We leave early in the morning for the Valley of a Thousand Hills to meet the Zulu people and experience real village culture and hospitality. On occasions we might take part in a traditional Zulu dance, visit a "Sangoma" (spiritual leader) or we might go see the "Imyanga" (medicinal healer). This is an opportunity that few visitors get to experience, your accommodation is a typical "Nguni" style hut which usually faces east towards the Umgeni River. The warmth and hospitality of the people is ever present and throughout the day, new people are met and great experiences had. The village comes alive at night with music and dance and you will be fed with delicious Zulu cuisine. Overnight in Zulu Village.
Day 3
- Head back to Durban around 9am and then we can head to the beach for a day of surfing, short boards ,boogie boards , Malibus, just let us know what you prefer & we'll organise it for you, surf lessons and a lot of local knowledge is also available. Overnight in Durban.
Day 4
- Leave early for Umkomaas to dive the Aliwal Shoal, one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. Sightings include sharks, turtles, rays, dolphins, whales, an enormous variety of fish and eels. Experienced dive masters always accompany the divers, you must have an Open Water qualification, you could do the open water scuba course but you need a few more days which is not a problem as we can simply stretch the trip out. Overnight in Umkomaas.
Day 5
- Two dives today at Rocky Bay which is another great diving site, the warm Indian Ocean makes for great conditions to take a peek below the surface and reveal the under water world. Overnight in Umkomaas.
Day 6
- After a great breakfast , head to Durban so you can make your next destination to hook up with another Adrenalin rush. Have you bungeed the 216 meter Bloukrans Bridge ? Check out the Garden Route Trip.
