Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Southern Kruger Park:
We depart Johannesburg, the city of Gold and head off on an adventure of a lifetime. A Truly unique African experience unfolds as we enter the Kruger Park via one of the Southern gates. The Park is home to 150 species of mammal, including Africa’s famed Big Five. The staggering 507 bird species plus the wide variety of insects, reptiles and amphibians make this the ultimate wildlife experience. As we enter the Kruger, we board an open safari vehicle and enjoy our first exciting game drive until sunset. After settling into camp, we enjoy a bushveld dinner around the campfire before venturing out into the bush as we track the creatures of the night on a late evening game drive. (D)
Day 2: Central Kruger Park:
We depart our camp at first light and head out on an early morning game drive exploring the African bush. We enjoy a bushveld brunch before continuing the day game viewing, bird watching and stopping off at the various waterholes en-route to our next campsite. The day is ended with the campfire aroma of traditional bushveld cooking as we enjoy a braai (barbeque) around a log fire. (BD)
Day 3: Private Game Lodge:
Up at daybreak we discover more of Kruger’s amazing ecosystems before enjoying brunch at one of the picnic sites with the Park. Our journey continues through this pristine wildlife haven as we then exit the Park via one of the central gates and visit a local Shangaan Village on the border of the Park. We gain insight into the customs and traditions of the local people who inhabit this area. With the ever present views of the Drakensberg Escarpment in sight. We make our way to a Private Lodge where we spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Whilst relaxing around the campfire we learn about the stars of the African skies on a guided star talk. (BD)
Day 4: Johannesburg:
An early rise as we head out on a morning bush walk. Guided by qualified rangers, we learn about nature’s finer details like bird, tree and spoor identification. After breakfast, we depart the Lodge and our journey takes us through the Mpumalanga Province as we travel along the Drakensberg Escarpment to view the spectacular setting of the Three Rondawels overlooking the Blyde River Canyon. We then continue en-route to Johannesburg arriving late in the afternoon. (B)
