Tour Itinerary
Your day begins at the Thai-Burma Railway Museum. Created to present the history of the "Death Railway," the museum offers an unbiased account of the railway's past. The railway was ordered by the Imperial Japanese Army to be built by prisoners of war and Asian laborers, and many of the workers lost their lives due to horrific living conditions. Begun in 1942, the railway ran over 250 miles (402 km) at its completion.
Travel by boat down the Maeklong River until you reach the bridge on the River Kwai, known well by a movie of the same name. The black iron and concrete bridge, also constructed by the prisoners of war, still stands today. Board the Death Railway Train and cross this infamous bridge, continuing on for an hour's journey through the winding rain forest of Thailand.
