Tour ItineraryFat Tire Bike Tours - Paris welcomes you to the City of Light. Le Chateau de Versailles awaits you in all its grandeur as you return to the time period of the most famous French kings and queens.
Upon arrival in the town of Versailles we will ride to their famous city market to shop for our picnic supplies. Then we’ll cruise through the gardens to Marie Antoinette’s private Hamlet where she performed various roles for her court. Next we’ll visit both the Petit and Grand Trianons and on to our picnic at the edge of the Grand Canal. It is here that the magnitude of Versailles and the basis for the anger of the French citizens in 1789 is finally understood.
After lunch we’ll ride again through the gardens and enter the magnificent chambers of the Chateau itself. See the room where Marie Antoinette’s guards were killed as they protected her from the mob at the beginning of the Revolution. Walk through the exquisite Hall of Mirrors where King Louis greeted guests and the Armistice was signed to end World War I centuries later. This is a day you will not soon forget.
