The Highlander

Mountains, Lochs and Whisky!

We leave the city early and head for the Highlands to explore some of the best and least known areas of Scotland.

We'll visit the ancient fortress of Doune Castle and pay homage to the legendary Rob Roy MacGregor at Balquhidder - his final resting place. Experience Highland life at the wee village of Killin and wander along to the crashing Falls of Dochart.

Drive alongside beautiful Loch Tay, under the towering Ben Lawers mountain range and immerse yourself in the untouched scenery of Glen Lyon. History comes alive at the Fortingall stone circles and Neolithic cairn (the birthplace of Pontius Pilate?!)

What better way to end the day, than with a wee dram of the 'water of life' - Whisky tasting at the Glenturret Distillery (The Famous Grouse Experience!)

Finally, its over the Forth Road Bridge and back to Edinburgh.
