Tour Itinerary The Loch Ness Hunter
WINTER TOUR ROUTE (Runs November to March)
Heading north from Edinburgh en route for Loch Ness, we pass the imposing ramparts of Stirling Castle and then skirt Rob Roy country and the banks of Loch Luibnaig. We then cross the wilds of Rannoch Moor before stopping in dramatic Glencoe, scene of the infamous massacre in 1692.
Our tour takes us past Fort William and Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, before following the Great Glen through the village of Fort Augustus. Arriving at Urquart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness, you have the opportunity to explore this historic site, optional (£6.50 entry cost) or visit the nearby village of Drumnadrochit.
We trace the entire shoreline of Loch Ness (look out for the Monster!) to the Highland Capital of Inverness.
Our return journey goes past the stunning beauty of The Cairngorms National Park before climbing over the wild and lonely Drumochter Pass. We then head south into Perthshire, Big Tree Country, a land of forests, rivers and mountains. We view the spectacular Forth Bridges before arriving back in Edinburgh around 8.00pm.
Please note this is a long day out with lots of driving (320 miles/520 Kilometres of driving). It is strongly advised that this tour is not suitable for young children
