Tour Itinerary

This Adventure takes us to the Province of Colon, near Isla Grande. To reach this spectacular hideaway, we take a pleasant drive along the Bay of Buena Ventura. We will pass through the town of Portobello, home to the famed Black Christ and the ruins of several Spanish fortresses. Upon reaching the town of Guaira, where we board our boat journey to Isla Mamey. This trip includes a narrow passage through a dense mangrove forest - wildlife abounds.

Upon arriving at Isla Mamey, you are a short swim from shore to the surrounding fringe reef. The reef contains Brain and Sheet coral formations, Sea fans, Staghorns and Rods. As you explore the many caverns and passages within the reef, it is likely that we will see schools of Snapper, Angels, Jacks and Blue tang. There are many other possibilities - Parrotfish, Trunkfish, and Damselfish to name a few.


Intinerary:

08:00 Transfer from Panama City to Guaira.

10:00 Arrive in Guaira and board small baot to the Island of Mamey.

10:30 Arrive Island Mamey and snorkeling equipment is issued. Your guide offers instruction on water safety.

12:00 Caribbean lunch with your favorite cold beverage.

14:00 Depart for Panama City
