Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Leaving Edinburgh at 8.30 a.m. we head straight for the Highlands. First stop is Stirling and Braveheart Country (William Wallace, King Robert the Bruce and Rob Roy MacGregor) - you'll hear all the history and legends, with plenty of walks and time off the bus. Then we wind our way up to breathtaking Glencoe (hear about the massacre of Clan MacDonald) to do a fantastic walk. Tonight is spent just north of Fort William in beautiful surroundings.
Day 2
This morning we make our way over to the mystical Isle of Skye for a full and active day with lots of walks and time to take in the magic. You'll see the Cuillin Mountains, the Old Man of Storr (an incredible Jurassic pillar) and hear some amazing legends, visit the fascinating Kilt Rock, and take in absolutely awe-inspiring panoramas in the Quirang. Perfect preparation for a few wee drams in the local pub, to reflect on a day of tales and legends. Tonight we stay on the west of the island in a local hotel with live music at Edinbane.
Day 3
We spend the monring on the Island with some gente walks before setting off on a superb Seal spotting boat trip. Next we make our way back onto the mainland visiting Eilean Donan Castle (where Highlander was filmed) and then on to the infamous Loch Ness for some monster hunting - we stay just near ht banks of the Loch tongiht (so feasible midnight walks to Urqhart Castle!)
Day 4
We begin today with an emotional visit to tragic Culloden battlefield (Bonnie Prince Charlie's last stand), next on to the mysterious Clava Cairns before heading southwards. We'll stop for a gentle forest walk visit Scotlands Smallest legal distillery Edradour. Then it is a short drive home to Edinburgh, tired and happy honorary Scots!!
