Tour Itinerary*
Day 1

North west from Edinburgh, passing Stirling Castle, and on to the lonely wilderness of RANNOCH MOOR - a myriad of lochans, burns and bogs. Witness the haunting scenery of GLENCOE, scene of myth and tragic misdeed; and the GREAT GLEN NEVIS - favorite haunt of film directors; HIGHLANDER, ROB ROY and BRAVEHEART. Yet further north of mystical LOCH NESS whose cold, dark waters hold the legendary inhabitant, the LOCH NESS MONSTER; the ancient URQUHART CASTLE, perched on a rocky cliff on the loch's edge from where most sightings of the monster have been reported. Our overnight stop is in INVERNESS.

Day 2
*
Day 2 takes us east of INVERNESS, to the eerie windswept CULLODEN MOOR, Britain's last battlefield where the Jacobite cause was finally lost in 1746. Then onwards through the CAIRNGORM MOUNTAINS, to the spectacular LOCH AN EILAN (Loch of the Island) where stands a picturesque ruined castle, and then a short walk through one of the few remaining CALEDONIAN PINE FORESTS. Continuing through some of the most resplendent mountain scenery in Europe, our route moves on to GLEN LYON, one of the most beautiful of all Scottish Glens - where the RIVER LYON tumbles through corries, gorges and flowering meadows, before returning to Edinburgh.
Our tour price does not include accommodation - there will be a range of accommodation available to allow you to choose what suits you; from Hotel, to B & B or Youth Hostel.
