Tour Itinerary Nepal/Bhutan Exploration Tour
Day 01:
Arrival in Nepal (Kathmandu Airport)
Pick up from airport, rest in hotel. Evening visit to Monkey Temple lies on the hilltop only a kilometer far from Thamel for Kathmandu evening Valley view.
Day 02:
Whole day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.
After breakfast you have sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley. The Valley is cradle of Nepali culture and civilization. It is the largest valley in the Midlands and certainly the most beautiful.
There are seven UNESCO recognized World Heritage Sites within 20 kms in average. Those are: Swayambhu Nath Stupa, Boudha Nath, Bhaktapur City, Changu Narayan Temple, Pashupati Nath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. Today we arrange you to visit all above Cultural Centers. Over night in hotel.
Day 03:
Fly to Paro and drive to Thimpu (68 kms/2 hrs)
During this flight, one will experience breathtaking view of Mt. Everest, Kanchanjungha and other Himalayan peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mt jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport. You will be received by a representative of your agent, then drive to Bhutan.]
Day 04:
Thimpu: Full day local sightseeing tour
AM: Visit the memorial chorten of the late king Jigme Dorjee Wangchuk in the heart of Thimpu town/The Tashichhodzong “The fortress of the auspicious Religion”
PM: Stroll downtown to the Handicraft Development Corporation, which displays all kinds of traditional handicraft products of Bhutan.
Day 05:
Thimpu to Punakha (1350 mts./3hrs)
AM: After breakfast drive over the spectacular Dochula pass (3100 mts) to the warm and fertile valley of Punakha.
PM: Visit the historic Punakha Dzong, once the seat of the old capital of Bhutan. The magnificent Dzong is sprawled between the Phochu and Mochu River.
Day 06:
Punakha to Bhumathang (225mts./9hrs)
Am: After breakfast drive over to the valley of Bhumathang through the Yotola pass (3440 mts.). This valley is considered a very sacred place for the Bhutanese with many temples and holy places. Overnight Bhumathang Tourist Lodge
Day 07:
Bhumathang: Full day Sightseeing
AM: Drive to Mebartsho (burning lake). This gorge is the holy site and pilgrimage place where Guru Rimpoche had hidden religious treasures later discovered by Terton Pema Lingpa. Visit the Swiss Farm where you can buy excellent local made cheese.
PM: Visit the Jakar Dzong (castle of white bird). Built in 1549 this dzong houses the administrative center of Bhumathang. Visit Kurjeyy Lhakang, the most sacred and popular monastery in Bhumathang. Overnight Bhumathang Tourist Lodge.
Day 08:
Bhumathang – Thimpu
Am: Early morning drive to Thimpu via Tongsa and Wangdiphodrang. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 09:
Thimpu – Paro
Am: After breakfast drive leisurely to Paro
PM: Drive through the Paro valley to see the Drukgyel Dzong/Kyichu Lhakhang. On a clear day one can see the white doomed majestic Jhomolhari Mountain or better known as the mountain of Goddess (24000 ft). Also visit the National museum located in the Ta Dzong, which displays a rich collection of fine arts and weapons. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10:
Paro; Excursion to Taktsang Lhakang
AM: After breakfast drive to Sartsham Chorten and then two hours of horse riding uphill will take you to the Taktsang cafeteria. After refreshment a short trek to the viewpoint to witness a fascinating eye-level view of the famous Taktsang Lhakhang also known as the tigers nest.
PM: After lunch, slow downhill trek to Sartsham Chorten and then drive to Hotel over night at hotel.
Day 11:
Drive to Airport for your flight
After breakfast you will drive back to Paro International Airport to departure from the country.
Today you will spend rest of your last day of this trip in Nepal with shopping Nepali products as souvenir for your family and friends or as you like. If necessary your guide is happy to help you for shopping.
Day 12:
Drive back to KTM Int’l Airport for onward flight.
In the morning, after breakfast (or as your flight schedule back from Nepal), we will go Kathmandu Airport to say you bye. It is sad for us to leave with you ! |
