Highlights:
We'll start the tour at Tian'anmen Square and the surrounding halls and monuments. Often the definitive locale for high-profile events, we are sure the visitor will have his/her own interpretation of the world's largest city center square.
We'll then walk to the Forbidden City, passing through massive gates and across large expanses of palace grounds (180 acres to be exact) admiring the the lavish yet somber display of power by the imperial courts of two dynasties. Ever since its newest incarnation as a museum, the palace complex's many halls house relics, artifacts, artworks of the highest value and significance.
After a relaxing lunch, we'll head to the suburbs to visit the Great Wall, Badaling section. A gigantic and ambitious (or quixotic) endeavor, the Wall has apparently served its military purpose and nowadays is a major tourist attraction. On our way back to the city center, we'll make a brief stop at Longdi Jade Factory for you to take advantage of the bargains on quality jade products that make for great souvenirs and gifts for friends.
