Tour Itinerary
After heading north from our departure points in San Francisco, Portland and Seattle we'll cross into the majestic terrain of British Columbia. Ponder the scientific magic of geothermal activity while you soak in Canyon hot springs, stretch your legs on a hike on the Balu Pass Trail in Glacier National Park, and pitch your tent on the shores of the exquisite Lake Louise near Bow River.
Spot wildlife or just enjoy the awe-inspiring scenery during a drive to Banff National Park where you can hike along the dramatic catwalks above the cascading pools of Johnston Canyon to impressive waterfalls. Then compare river gorges when you explore the spectacular 165 foot sheer limestone walls of Maligne Canyon while visiting Jasper National Park.
We'll travel through the vast wilderness of pristine mountains on the Icefields Parkway, and wind our way through the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks. Get close to the ice age and take a hike to Kathryn Glacier before searching for your spirit animal in one of the 13 original totem poles in the first nation village of Kispiox.
In Prince Rupert we'll begin a series of panoramic ferry rides that glide through the Inside Passage, the waterway formed by the impressive force of massive glaciers millions of years ago. Keep your camera handy as we wind our way around lush islands and magnificent fjords, as this is home to orcas, humpback whales, bald eagles, dall porpoise and the bears that prowl the nearby shore.
On our overnight stop in Peterburg, you'll have time to stroll the coast to Sandy Beach, check out the tide pools, try your hand at deciphering pictographs or hike from the Raven's Roost Trailhead for a spectacular view before we head back to the ferry and continue onward to the capitol of Alaska, Juneau.
Although this is the end of the Caribou Crawler segment, after a brief respite in Juneau the bus will continue to experience more of this incredible Alaskan journey on the Alaskan Denali Dream adventure.
You will be staying in a hotel of your choice in Juneau, but In general we do not recommend making advance reservations for lodging etc unless they are refundable. Your drivers will be happy to give you tips on Juneau lodging prior to arrival.
