Being one of the world’s natural wonders and world heritage as recognized by UNESCO,
Ha Long Bay is a truly attractive destination. About 2, 000 islands protrude from the sea
with red sail junks dotting the horizon. Come and see what the Vietnamese call “the descending dragon”.
Cat Ba Island is situated in Ha Long Bay, 50 km to the east of Hai Phong City, in Northern of Vietnam. It is the largest of 366 islands in the Cat Ba Archipelago, and has a surface area of about 140 square km.
Day 1: Hanoi - Ha Long
08h00: Depart for Halong in 3 hours and a half (you will have a short break of 20 minutes in Hai Duong province).
11h30: Arrive in Halong bay, get on Cristina Cruise, welcome drink and your lunch will be served in the restaurant on the Junk. From now on, you will discover the mysterious beauty of the bay. You are free to enjoy the natural scenery, taking pictures of thousands of amazing islets or the fishers’ work…You will have time for admiring the beauty of the islets and caves of Halong bay.
Firstly, our guide will bring you to Sung Sot cave, one of the most spacious and beautiful caves of Halong bay with a lot of “hanging lights” made of stalactiles shining brightly and sparkling. The stones in the shape of statues, elephants, tray of sticky rice, flowers and leaves…
16h30: Arrive at Titiov Island, free time for swimming and then do kayaking through Luon cave. All make you feel like being in a different world, which likes in your dream.
18h30: Have dinner with fresh seafoods. Then you can take part in the Cuttle-fishing Contest and taste your “results” immediately. Overnight on the cruise.
Day 2: Cat Ba National park – Cat Ba town Discovery
7h30: Have breakfast, then you will enjoy a sunrise cruise in the breathtaking scenery of Halong to Gia Luan harbour. Our bus takes you to Cat Ba National Park. Do biking or trekking to discover the wild beauty of Cat Ba national park.
12h15: Our bus transfers you to check in the hotel for lunch and relaxation.
14h00: Another boat will take you to visit Monkey Island. Kayaking around Lan ha bay with full of exploration. Relaxing and swimming before turning back to the town of Cat Ba.
18h00: You enjoy the dinner after a hard- travelling day. Free time at night to explore the town of Cat Ba. Overnight in the 2 star hotel on Cat Ba island.
Day 3 : Cat Ba - Halong - Hanoi
7h30: Have breakfast in the hotel. Then Cristina Cruise takes you back to Halong. 11.00 Have lunch at a restaurant in Halong City.
13h00: The bus transfers you to Hanoi.
16h00: You are in Hanoi and the tour ends.
Highlights
A trip to Cat Ba island can done separately or in combination with a visit to Halong Bay. Cat Ba Island is the largest island in the Cat Ba Archipelago that consists of 350 limestone outcrops adjacent to Halong Bay. This is an oasis where you can be gone for one or for several days. If you start from the Halong Bay Wharf, it will take you four hours by boat, with stopovers for swimming, visiting spectacular karst and eating fresh seafood. You can contemplate the beautiful scenery of Halong Bay before reaching the island.
