Day 1: SAIGON - MY THO - BEN TRE - VINH LONG (Home Stay)
Pick up and drive / cruise to Mekong Delta with boat trips as followed:
The first bustling town of the Mekong Delta is My Tho, 84km from HCMC. This trip provides a look at a wide variety of the life and scenery on Vietnam River from the peaceful Delta. The huge ships, which come from many different countries moving slowly, quietly along the river is what you will see at the Saigon River. Do not miss this sight! On the way you will see daily activities of local people along the river sellers and buyers bargaining, exchanging the products that they got from their working. From My Tho, you will ride on a local motor boat along Dragon Island, Unicorn Island, Phoenix Island, Turtle Island and stop at the famous Unicorn Island. While at the Unicorn Island, you will take a short trek and go for a rowing boat trip. You will also enjoy tropical fruits in an orchard, natural pure honey at a bee keeping farm and traditional music.
From there, you will continue your motor boat trip to Ben Tre province to visit a handmade coconut candy workshop. Then transfer to a small motor boat and travel along the lush, green canals, and stop at local restaurant for Vietnamese lunch and bicycle riding around the village.
Boat will take you to An Binh island belongs to Vinh Long town growing hundred kinds of tropical fruits all year around. This is a truly village of beauty and kind hearted locals who treat visitors as their family members. Start biking to explore the island. A chance to stay with a Vietnamese family, cooking dinner with them. Overnight home-stay. (D)
Day 2: CAI BE - VINH LONG - SAIGON
Visit Cai Be floating market in the early morning with sellers and buyers bargaining and exchanging their goods from their boats. Next, a boat rides on the maze of shady canals to arrive at a local orchard to enjoy the local tropical fruits and to see the daily activities of local people. Then you will enjoy riding bicycles or roaming through the village to have a look at several local product making shops. After a stop in Vinh Long city a bus will take you back to Saigon with a stop at a Bonsai garden in My Tho. Back to Saigon at around 18h00. (B, L)
