Tour Itinerary
DAY ONE:
Meet 10.30am meet Kariba Dam wall Zambia/ Siavonga. (Transfers may be arranged on request from Lusaka) Short road transfer to the base of the Dam wall, no immigration formalities required. A quick riverside briefing on what is to be expected on your trip. A short two hour paddle (approx 12km) to lunch stop under shade on the banks of the Kariba gorge. Swift current makes for fast downstream canoeing. Approx 2.30pm paddle through to evening camp situated on an island at the mouth of the gorge. Arrive at island camp site approx 5.30pm in time to set up camp. Total canoed distance on day one 21km. Overnight Nyamumba island.
DAY TWO:
Full day canoeing, approx 25km Canoeing starts early after morning tea/coffee and biscuits approx 06:00/06:30 Depart Island camp for downstream breakfast stop approx 08:30 Continue though to shaded lunch stop from approx 12:30 – 14:30 out of mid day sun. Proceed to evening campsite on Twin Log Island.
DAY THREE:
Routine as is on day two although the final leg of the trip takes us 19km to the ending point at Zambezi Breezers where the party stops for the final lunch on welcome lawns where a refreshing swim can be had before continuing on ones journey.
