    Located near a busy square known as Paradeplatz, this popular Zurich restaurant serves up a selection of traditional Swiss dishes. These include rösti, a hash-brown like potato dish, and Kalbsgeschnetzeltes, which is made from sliced veal and mushrooms, served in a creamy sauce. A great choice of sausage dishes also feature on the menu alongside homemade desserts. You can wash all that down with one of the many beers on offer, both bottled and from the keg.

    For the backpacker on a tight budget, the Chiang Mai Thai Shop next to the main train station in Josefstrasse 13 is the answer for a city that is extremely expensive . Bring them hot peppers :)

    Thai food is the speciality at this popular shop and eatery. Each day a selection of authentic Thai dishes are offered and these always include a vegetarian option. Considering that it can be expensive to eat out in Zurich, this is a really good choice as the tasty Thai food is very affordable.

    If you’re a vegetarian visiting Zurich, you should definitely try out Hiltl which dates all the way back to 1898. The menu at this top Zurich restaurant includes pumpkin curry, a carrot plum tagine, soups, salads and lots more. Buffets are a regular fixture here too, with a breakfast buffet offered every morning and followed by a lunch/dinner buffet which is replenished throughout the day.
