    Get the train a few stops out to Darzini, then walk through the forest to the memorial at the Salaspils concentration camp. An incredibly moving place.

    There is a really good museum about Latvian history with a few wars there. Sounds like the last thing you'd want to do, but it was so informative and well-presented, it was great. Lighten it up after by enjoying the beautiful city and a beer!
