  • Permaculture Farmstay, Lenggong, Malaysia

    Located around 6 kilometres from the town of Lenggong and approximately 4 hours by bus from Kuala Lumpur, Permaculture Farmstay is situated on an old tea plantation in the middle of a beautiful countryside area. At this unique hostel, you’ll be able to learn all about the farming techniques employed at Permaculture which are especially interesting as the hostel promotes sustainable living. As well as learning all about farming, you’ll also get the opportunity to see some of the local flora and fauna, with plenty of activities organised by the hostel. It has a full board (4 meals) included in the price.

  • Gyreum, Sligo, Ireland

    Stuck at the end of the plateau of Moytura in Ireland’s Co. Sligo, Gyreum is a hugely spacious, hobbit-like building that has been dug into the hillside. The 100ft structure is aligned to the dawns and dusks of both the summer and winter solstices when beams of sunlight light up the central hall. Guests can stay in dorms circling the ‘round hall’ which is perfect for yoga and meditation.

    On the rugged California coast, just 25 miles south of San Francisco, sits the Point Montara Fog Signal and Light Station. Established in 1875, the historic lighthouse and turn-of-the-century buildings have been preserved and restored by HI-AYH and the California Department of Parks and Recreation, in cooperation with the U.S. Coast Guard.
